Archbishop, you do not need permission from the government to have Mass.

The archbishop is not asking for permission to have Mass. But since indoor Masses are prohibited (!) and Mass must be outdoors and limited to twelve (12) people only, no matter how large the available worship space outside is, and since the people wear masks and social distance, and since protests with unlimited, unmasked numbers are permitted without limit, he’s making a reasonable request after some months of successful outdoor Mass IN these limits to increase the participation.

Seems reasonable to me.

There have also been protests in SF (as the article points out) that have had far more than 12 people and are allowed by the city to continued unhindered. City authorities have also been very diligent in cracking down on churches who they deem to be violating city guidelines. They are targeting churches, plain and simple. The Archbishop needs to consider taking legal action if he hasn’t already.
