Okay, not that I’ve gotten your attention…

I realize we must consider the secular source of this article, but I still thought it should go under the Catholic News heading.

From indybay.org/newsitems/2009/01/17/18563845.php
10,000 anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage terrorists will visit San Francisco for the 5th, and hopefully the last, time, on January 24 at 10:30 a.m., Market and Embarcadero, the day we commemorate the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which guaranteed women in the US a right to a safe and legal abortion. We need hundreds of thousands of pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage people to put this Catholic Church sponsored event back on their buses, peacefully, and send them home for good.
I will be among the marchers and it will be interesting to see what kind of interest these people can drum up.

Believe me, they are not representative of the average person who lives in the SF Bay Area.

“Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” St. Matthew 5:10-12 NAB

I read the article and I will pray for you and all the people who march on the 24th.

It is just funny that they think abortion is safe. I had put this on one of my other posts, but it makes sense here too.
  1. In 2003, the California Department of Health Services cited a Los Angeles Planned Parenthood for numerous deficiencies following the death of Diana Lopez. Diana Lopez bled to death in 2002 afer her cervix was allegedly punctured during an abortion. (Griffith, Dorsey, “State Faults Clinic in Death,” The Sacremento Bee, online edition, June 19, 2003)
  1. In 2001, a San Francisco Court decision awarded $672,610 in damages to a Yogoslav immigrant whose preborn child suffered the loss of two limbs during a botched abortion at Planned Parenthood. (Wetzstein, Cheryl, “Planned Parenthood told to pay $672,610 for botched abortion,” The Wasthington Times, March 1, 2001, p. A1.)
…I guess it isn’t as safe as they think it is. This is even without arguing morality.

I just love how people who disagree with the homosexual or abortionist agenda are now being classified as terrorists in this article. I guess freedom of speech only applies for those who have the same opinion as them.

Anyhow, you keep going! The day we give up and let modernism and immorality win is the day we abandon our faith. You keep being strong.

Pax tecum.

Wow. That has got to be the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard in my life! :( While there have been a few who have claimed to be pro-life and who have shot abortionists and bombed abortion clinics and such, they are hardly the mainstream in the pro-life movement. I think it is important to note also that such murderers (the ones who claim to be pro-life) are in the truest since of the word, evil as well, and are not truly pro-life. If they were, they wouldn’t murder.

Also, when you look at the statistics, there is far more violence on the pro-abortion side than there is on the pro-life side. This proves which side is the more moral side. ;)🙂

wow. I am pro-gay marriage, but I can’t agree with anyone who calls another a “terrorist” just for exercising their freedom of a speech/opinion.

Did anyone go into the “About Us” page? If not, it’s below. It’s a volunteer non-profit newspaper that says it’s organized along “anti-authoritarian principles…” and shows “police state” and “womyn” under “Topics”. Sounds like an underground newspaper from the '60’s.

California (in general) and San Francisco (in particular) will not be on my to visit list. In fact, I was thinking of taking a Hawaii cruise in 2010 that would of started in San Diego (or LA) and will not be book that cruise due to the hostile attitude of the state towards traditional morals.

Good post, Benedict! Yeah, it is ironic that pro-aborts and pro-homosexuals call us ‘terrorists’ just because we disagree with their positions.

Keep on fighting you pro-life marchers! Don’t let the ‘other side’ win!

Funny, I don’t think of myself as a terrorist :o !
Me, either ! 😃
Matter of fact … I KNOW that neither my son, nor I, are terrorists !!!
We both live in the San Fran. Bay Area & we did march, last year. And, he’s not even Catholic.
We’re hoping to march, again, this month.

BTW … I understand that at least 20,000, of us ‘terrorists’ marched, last year ( NOT 10,000 ).
Hoping for perhaps; 25,000 of us (at least) to be marching, this year ! :gopray2:

My very feisty older daughter and her husband may well be moving to the Bay area for his post-doc at Berkeley  next fall. They are dedicated pro-lifers, both well educated, and fearless when it comes to pro-life issues; I am sure they will be in the middle of any march next year, if the Berkeley post-doc comes to pass.

I read the article, and after reading about how few young people voted and how they needed to get all these young people out, I wanted to comment (but didn’t). I wanted to remind them of how many people born since 1972 realize that they avoided being just another abortion statistic. These young people are not so violently in favor abortion as to vote for it or come out and demonstrate in favor of it.

<><

This is a perfect example of people calling evil, good and good, evil.

I wonder how long it will be before God gets his fill of this, and brings down the curtain on this country? Nobody knows but Him.

Wow terrorists really? That is soooo biased… terrorists… us…wow… and what about the slaughter of innocents in their wake?

Someone dosen’t know the definition of terrorist. So the whole article is a fallacy. 😉

Funny, I don’t think of myself as a terrorist :o !
Terrorists never think of themselves as terrorists. One side’s ‘terrorist’ is the other side’s ‘freedom fighter’. 😃

But we all know you’re not a terrorist.

Actually, there were more than 25,000 of us “terrorists” last year and our numbers have increased each year, while the number of “counter terrorists” has dropped. However, with the anger over prop 8, I expect a much larger and more vocal crowd of anti-life protesters this year. So be prepared.
