I know this doesnt necessarily belong here, but since this is where I mostly hang out…

Parents starve baby

It takes a lot to push me over and make me cry, but this story is probably the hardest one I have ever read or heard and is most certainly the first time a story of any kind made me weep.

So,…

TO all here,

Catholics:
Today at 3pm local time, I’d like to ask everyone to say and dedicate a Chaplet of Divine Mercy to this child, Praying that the lord will bring the baby swiftly into his kingdom.

Protestants:
Also at 3pm your local time
If you are familiar with the Chaplet of divine Mercy, and have no qualms about using it, I simply ask you join in at 3 your local time. If you don’t know or don’t agree with the Chaplet, then offer some prayer that you feel suites this situation…

Let us come together as Christian Brothers and Sisters and pray for this Child in unity.

In Christ

Absolutely. I will offer my Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3pm and my nightly Rosary for this childs soul. I totally trust in the mercy of our dear Lord and know in my heart that this child is being cradled in the loving arms of our Blessed Mother. Its the parents of this child who also are in need of our prayers. Lets not forget about them, no matter how angry we are at their actions.

:crying:

 How could anyone do that to a baby?

God, I’m sure you’ve already welcomed that little one into your kingdom – thank you for your love. Please help us to let go of our anger and pray for these people, as hard as it may be. :crossrc:

I’ll remember the baby and the parents in my chaplet of Divine Mercy today.

I can’t help but notice that they are both looking at 100 years for murder, however, if they would have killed that same baby just 5 moths earlier, they would have been congratulated by the pro-aborts for successfully exercising their “right to choose”. What a sick world we live in.

This is just another symptom of what happens when we believe no voice=no value.

I can’t believe the other baby wasn’t taken to a group home right away.
It sounds like drugs had something to do with this. Just looking for a way to grasp the idea that it happened, I can conceive of parents forgetting all about the baby for eight days. Either that or they’re crazy. I don’t know. To let a baby starve!
I’m in tears right now. A child is such a precious gift. He spent that whole time wondering why they didn’t hear him cry. He cried louder and louder until he found he couldn’t anymore. That’s what they do. How he must have felt the moment his poor little voice gave out. This makes me sick.
It was a surprise to me that a five-month-old could starve to death at 10 pounds, since many children are that weight at one year, but everyone is different. The poor litle creature, struggling to get out of the seat, looking for some sign they were coming. I can’t stand it.

Pretty twisted, isn’t it?

Like the young woman who gave birth in the school bathroom during her prom, left the baby in the toilet (I think it was), and resumed her place with her date back out at the party.

People were abhored. A day earlier, like Enoch wrote, there are some who would hail her as a hero of “choice.”

We need to remember that Man’s Law isn’t always the same as God’s Law. And, when they are not the same, God’s Law takes precedence.

In some instances, in our Society’s way of thinking (Political Correctness-uh huh) right is wrong, and wrong is right. This reminds me of years ago, I saw an interview with Ozzie Ozborne on TV (I mean YEARS ago). I can’t even remember what show it was on, but it was an interview. He was asked if he worshiped Satan. He said no. A few other questions, and he was asked in Satanic Circles, if yes means no and no means yes. He said no. <-I caught that, that he’d answered that after denying before.

What comes to mind is “Living on the Edge” by Aerosmith. Kind-of weird that they came out with this, methinks:

There’s somethin’ wrong with the world today
I don’t know what it is
Something’s wrong with our eyes

We’re seeing things in a different way
And God knows it ain’t His
It sure ain’t no surprise

We’re livin’ on the edge…" " "

There’s somethin’ wrong with the world today
The light bulb’s gettin’ dim
There’s meltdown in the sky

If you can judge a wise man
By the color of his skin
Then mister you’re a better man that I

We’re livin’ on the edge
You can’t help yourself from fallin’
Livin’ on the edge
You can’t help yourself at all
Livin’ on the edge
You can’t stop yourself from fallin’
Livin’ on the edge

Tell me what you think about your sit-u-a-tion
Complication - aggravation
Is getting to you

If chicken little tells you that the sky is fallin’
Even if it wasn’t would you still come crawlin’
Back again?
I bet you would my friend
Again & again & again & again & again

(solo)

Tell me what you think about your sit-u-a-tion
Complication - aggravation
Is getting to you

If chicken little tells you that the sky is fallin’
Even if it was would would you still come crawlin’
Back again?
I bet you would my friend
Again & again & again & again

There’s something right with the world today
And everybody knows it’s wrong
But we can tell 'em no or we could let it go
But I would rather be a hanging on

Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself from fallin’
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself at all
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t stop yourself from fallin’
Livin’ On the Edge
Livin’ On the Edge
Livin’ On the Edge
Livin’ On the Edge
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself from fallin’
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself at all
Livin’ on the edge
You can’t stop yourself from fallin’
Livin’ on the edge
Livin’ on the edge
You can’t help yourself
You can’t help yourself
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself at all
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself
You can’t help yourself
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself
You can’t help yourself
Livin’ On the Edge
You can’t help yourself from fallin’
Livin’ On the Edge
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, you got to that now

So tragic. I remeber a few months ago there was a similar case where a young couple’s child starved to death. The report on tv mentioned they thought the couple barely took care of themselves. They didn’t think drugs were involved, but that the couple was addicted to video games. Can you even imagine?!

Even more tragic is that they lived in the city where my diocesean offices are at. We have a great family life office and if they didn’t want to care for the baby… a great number of people would have without batting a lash.

There is also a very easy to get to hospital and they could have left the baby there too… or a police station… or a fire station…

This is actually a pretty friendly place… it isn’t like they didn’t have options. For that matter… how come her relatives took one kid but not the other? Not blaming them, but it does seem odd…
