You have asked several questions, & I will answer them, however, I have to say that as someone who has never met me, I am at a loss as to how you arrived at [your] assumptions .

Yes, I am sure that they are Santerian, they have told us so. They have also claimed to be “Spanish Catholics,” which bothers me on several levels. There are many misconceptions out there about our faith…if they are presenting themselves to others as “Catholic,” it is [not] surprising [if]others have such erroneous beliefs about our faith.

[We have asked them] not to park all over the cul-de-sac &block our driveways & mailboxes. They do it anyway. They have parked in the driveway of a vacant home for sale. Would you be interested in living in a home if you can’t park there to see it? Not likely. I know that it is a “religious service,” because we can witness what takes place in the back yard and hear the chanting, &]the cries of the animals being slaughtered.

To be … honest with you, Karen, I found your insinuations of racism/xenophobia on my part upsetting…they are Americans. [some] who attend are white, [some] black. I don’t care what their beliefs are… I am bilingual, teach foreign languages at the HS &college level… You have no right to sit in judgement on me or make assumptions about my character.

…they are in violation of zoning ordinances. … they are not a registered church, zoning cannot do anything regarding services held here. Short of witnessing them passing a collection plate… They are in violation of ordinances [in re] livestock as well, but continue . They park illegally, & police never ticket them. When they leave (after 3-7 days), we have to pick up trash from our yards. They dump blood and animal products into drains &gutters on the street. The Health dept. says that [it] is not enough to warrant action but they’ve never investigated. The HOA …tell us that “something will be done,” but we wait. The chanting and screaming animals have woken my small children, one of whom has started screaming about ghosts. They are in violation of covenants,&we have contacted zoning, health dept, animal control, local police, HOA, &our state delegate. We are considering contacting the local media …

… this homeowner does not give a fig about anyone else, as proven by his actions and his lack of courtesy…these people claim to be “Catholic” or to have a lot in common with Catholocism, my thought was to educate them somewhat . My question was if anyone was aware of tracts [in re]some of the issues that they have misconstrued, i.e., the communion of saints, the existence of ONE God, or the final sacrifice of Our Lord. I didn’t realize that I was such a horrible person for wanting to give them a little piece of the Truth.

For you to sit in judgement of me is … uncalled for. I HAVE received ugly tracts from fundamentalists… I was not blocking their driveway, preventing delivery of their mail, leaving trash in their yards, screaming late into the night, dumping animal remains in front of their home… Am I perfect? Of course not. But my mama raised me to be considerate of others; too bad their mamas didn’t . Having seen those Chick tracts , I don’t know why you would think those are [what] I am looking for. Although I don’t really care if I upset any of them at this point, that is not my goal, butto educate them about what the Church DOES teach. Why would you assume otherwise?

You are not living in our situation, and I am frankly quite upset at the personal note of your message. When you live in a home with such a neighbor , whose actions [have]a direct impact on your life, property value, & the emotional well-being of your small children, how will you feel if [told]“It’s none of your business”?

I just joined this group, & I was looking for help. Your message is making me rethink that decision.

May I say that I believe that most of us here sympathize with you?
You should perhaps take into account that KarenNC is, according to her profile, a:shrug: “Nordic Neopagan Unitarian Universalist”, when reading her posts…

The saying is, “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”. May I suggest becoming that wheel?
I mean: make videos, call the media, call animal rights activists, put the various agencies on speed dial, etc. Sooner or later, someone will, I suspect, wake up to the fact that their refusal to act is becoming a matter of public record…

I am sorry that these things are happening to you. I am sorrier that these people are using the title of “Spanish Catholic”, while behaving like this.
God bless you & yours.

I would make liberal use of any towing services on a regular basis.
And instead of leaving things on people’s cars, I would tell them to their faces that you find it rather interesting that they claim to be Catholic when, in fact, they have already divulged that they are merely pantheists who deify Catholic Saints.

If they respond with something along the lines of “well it’s not our fault people tried to convert our ancestors,” say “but it is your fault that you deliberately misrepresent the Catholic faith to others.”

I would also make it quite clear to them that I was going to great lengths to curtail some of their more disruptive activities and that they can rest assured that these efforts will eventually come to fruition.
Why didn’t I think of:thumbsup: 👍 towing? If they’re on your property, they’re trespassing & can be towed. And I would (😉 not being very nice myself sometimes) have them billed for said towing.** Frequently**.
