**Juneau, AK (LifeNews.com) – **As many as 80 percent of unborn children diagnosed with Down syndrome become victims of abortion, but Alaska Gov, Sarah Palin didn’t let her child become a statistic. Palin, who has deeply-felt pro-life views, gave birth to her fifth child this week and the baby was diagnosed with the condition.

On Tuesday, Palin confirmed her baby, named Trig Paxson, has Down syndrome.

“Trig is beautiful and already adored by us,” Palin said in a statement LifeNews.com obtained.

“We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives,” she said.

'We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed," the 44 year-old governor added.

Fox News is reporting that Sarah Palin may be John McCain’s pick for VP. Romney and Pawlenty have been ruled out and there are reports that she may have flown to Ohio. This would be a tremendous boost for the pro-life movement. Even though the decision appears to be made, God is not bound by time and space and can apply our prayers to past events. Therefore, let’s pray that McCain chooses a pro-life running mate and that the American people are receptive to a pro-life ticket.

God Bless,
Gary

Wow!

Talk about energizing.

From a Catholic point of view the only downside to Palin is she’s Pro-Contraception.

Still I would be thrilled if she is picked for VP. At least we’d be making Pro-Life strides in government.

If she’s the pick, we need to send her copies of Humanae Vitae, Christopher West’s books on “Theology of the Body” and Janet Smith’s cd on “Contraception Why Not”. Last, get her in a room with Human Life International Fr. Tom Eutenhauer.

I think we could change Sarah Palin’s mind on contraception.

this thread, if centered on Pro-life/politics, will soon disappear:mad:

Better to let extreme views continue about differences in religion, and prohibit extreme views about a named politician:shrug: 😊

I agree so let’s enjoy it while it still exists! If this move happens (and now the Chicago Tribune is confirming that it will), it is a great day for the prolife movement. This bold move will take the steam out of the Hollywood show last night and will increase the likelihood of a pro-life president in november!!!

God Bless,

I am very excited about this potential running mate for John McCain, but I’d like to learn more.

Is Sarah Palin a Catholic, when googling her, it says she grew up in several different bible churches. As a convert, I’m just wondering if she is a recent convert or this is an inaccurate report. Does anyone know?

Her comments regarding the birth of her fifth child, Trigg (Down’s Syndrome child) are inspirational.

We have six beautiful living children, three of which have medical conditions, Auto-Immune Liver Disease, Diabetes Type I and now, as of July 8th, Ewing’s Sarcoma (bone cancer). We also have lost two children to miscarriage. We strongly believe that every child has dignity and purpose, no matter how short their lives, or their medical condition. What a voice of true feminism, and the feminine genius if Palin is VP candidate.

I feel so moved by this potential choice of VP. God will always have the final say, no matter how much others want us to believe they are on top of Mount Olympus…I was expecting thunderbolts from Thor or Zeus descending last night while watching the DNC.
