Now that IS a coincidence…Me too.
South BendNow that IS a coincidence…
I’m from the NW parts around Gary.![]()
Go Irish!South Bend
Oh yaGo Irish!![]()
My daughter and I drove up for the USC game…bummer.Oh yabut not this year :bighanky:
My mother retired from Notre Dame.
I was just using your words and made a statement about the pre-Jesus days and Mary. I don’t see where there is any Catholic teaching there. Please do not quote my words as official Catholic teaching unless I give you a reference. When I say “pre-Jesus days” I just mean the time before the PROCESS of bringing Jesus into the world.
First of all, I did NOT say that “Eve did’nt feel pain when she had her children”. You are saying that !!! What I am saying is that Eve would not have felt pain in her original state, if she had not committed original sin… That is the Catholic position, if you need a reference, I’ll gladly get it upon your request.
I am now second guessing however whether or not MARY felt the pains of childbirth. I myself thought she did, but another source on the internet says she did not.
I dont know anymore… ----Anyone else know?------kpeople:
It is not a matter of contamination. Perhaps the reason God made Mary sinless, was so that she would be more compatible with Jesus? Maybe so she could raise him properly, in a sin-free environment? Maybe so he could live within the woumb? Catholic teaching does not attempt to go into the reasoning of God… I dont either, I only show possibilities. I am just shedding light -not claiming to know the answers.
But I do agree with Catholic teaching.
My daughter and I drove up for the USC game…bummer.
My dad’s cousin was the starting QB in '59 so ND is in my blood.
Now I can’t hammer you for you theology…oh well.![]()
:irish2:I think you are obnoxious because of the confrontational and disrespectful way you speak(type) to others.Yep sure am a reverend. Can’t dance I have parkinsons and legs don’t work real good but thanks for the tap dancer profession complement. Now am I obnoxious because I question things or is it that I don’t believe the same thing you believe?
Oh this man or so called reverend is, I mean, just so obnoxious that, you know, I can’t believe how obnoxious he is. I can’t stand obnoxious people, its like they want to make me, oh you know, barf. I think I’ll let him know how I feel but I’ll let him know that is my IMHO you know to be nice, because I don’t want to be like him and obnoxious. Oh just the tought of me bing like that, ya know, just makes me want to, oh I guess, shiver.
Now by your name I would guess, but its only a guess, that you are from Indiana since that is where the Indy 500 is and Indyann is a close spelling to Indiana. But is just a guess.
I’m saying that Paul didn’t mean them when he said “all”!What does your answer have to do with infants, children and the mental disabled?
I don’t see the connection. Maybe you can help me see what you mean.
Yes, but Jesus did not say, “Keep what you need to survive” did He, now? In fact He only said, “Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” How does that imply “Keep what you need to survive”? This is what I’m talking about Kevin. Scripture may be applied to our lives and speak to us, but it doesn’t always translate the way we think it should. You say, “hey it doesn’t say anywhere that Mary was immaculately conceived.” It doesn’t, to you.No I don’t think Jesus meant to walk around naked without a penny but to keep what is necessary for you to survive.
“Nothing is impossible with God.”I guess what I don’t understand is why go through all this when Jesus was without sin in the first place. Now wouldn’t a sinless person give birth to a sinless person who would give birth to a sinless person who would give birth to a sinless person and so on down the line
Wouldn’t Mary’s mothers, mothers, mothers, mothers, mothers and so on would have to be without sin inorder for Mary to be without sin.
I think Charlie Brown once said, “Don’t you know sarcasm when you hear it?”Sorry for being annoying. :imsorry:
Well I don’t sugar coat things like some do. I guess you haven’t read most of the post on this and other sites. There is disrespect all over. Catholics and Protestants calling each other ignorant. Comprehenion defficiency, lack of common sence, and personal attacks. You say I’m disrespectful to others beliefs. What a joke. The Catholics here and on other sites disrespect our beliefs all the time. We non-Catholics get ganged up on by Catholics and are called everything but human. Give me a example of my disrespect to the Catholic religion. Respect get respect. If I get none then they get the same back. Thats the way I am. Just because I’m Reverend doesn’t make me not human and with human emotions.I think you are obnoxious because of the confrontational and disrespectful way you speak(type) to others.
I do not know anyone in real life, that is so disrespecting of another’s beliefs. I know several reverands, pastors, etc. and they are all men of God. Now, they may feel the way you do, but they are gentlemen enough not to be disrespectful to my face.
And what’s with the 80’s “valley girl” speak?
Everyone is born with sin therefore everyone falls short of the glory of God.I’m saying that Paul didn’t mean them when he said “all”!

Good hypothesis. But I’ll reserve comment because I don’t want my comment to be misunderstood as disrespect to the Catholic religion but I understand its ok to put us down and disrespect us for our beliefs.I’ve come up with a hypothesis on why protestants do not feel the way we catholics do about Mary…
-I think that since we believe in and frequently recieve Holy Communion with Jesus through the Eucharist, that we are actually closer to Jesus. Since Jesus lives within us, we feel the same compassion about the Virgin Mother that Jesus has. Mary really IS our mother since Jesus lives in us…
In the same way, protestants cant pray to Mary for her intercession, because prayer is their only link to Jesus. We Catholics have such strong physical ties to Jesus due to the consumption of his body and blood, (and the fact that He is the Head of the Body that is the Church) that we dont feel the “loss” that protestants do or any sort of “betrayal” of Jesus when we include Mary in our prayers.
Jesus is always with us !
Thank you Jesus for the Holy Eucharist…![]()

Go to the thread “why are some Lutherans so Anti-Catholic” and see how some Catholics are disrespecting the non-Catholic religions and non-Catholics the same. There is name calling, religion bashing, how obnoxious they are, and the confritation that is going on on both sides.I think you are obnoxious because of the confrontational and disrespectful way you speak(type) to others.
I do not know anyone in real life, that is so disrespecting of another’s beliefs. I know several reverands, pastors, etc. and they are all men of God. Now, they may feel the way you do, but they are gentlemen enough not to be disrespectful to my face.

Look at it this way. You are invited to your neighbor’s home to see the art treasure he has just been given. He tells you it is priceless and he is so happy to have been chosen as the recipient.Well I don’t sugar coat things like some do. I guess you haven’t read most of the post on this and other sites. Just because I’m Reverend doesn’t make me not human and with human emotions.
Now I’m me and not the other Reverends, Pastors, etc. so don’t compare me to others.
Like I said, look at all the posts and you will see that I’m correct. As a matter of fact I said that I have respect of the Catholic faith, the priests, the nuns, so research before you call someone names. Look at the whole picture.
It was meant to be the 80" valley girl speaking, just to be obnoxious.
So I take it you didn’t look at the site I asked you to look at.Look at it this way. You are invited to your neighbor’s home to see the art treasure he has just been given. He tells you it is priceless and he is so happy to have been chosen as the recipient.
You tell him you think it is ridiculous and you are glad it does not belong to you. You would never want such an atrocious object.
Have you disrespected your neighbor?
The name of this forum is CATHOLIC Answers.
As a matter of fact, I did read most of the thread you directed me to. From what I read, it seemed to be a very respectful discussion. NO one was called a vulture or any other name.So I take it you didn’t look at the site I asked you to look at.
Yes it would be disrespecting your neighbor.
This is a non-Catholic site in the Catholic answere forum. Now have you looked under
Important forum information under non-Catholic it says:
“explore the history and beliefs of non-Catholic and non-Christian
faith, dialogue and adherents.”
Now if you are a guest at your neighbor house and he/she starts to belittle you, tells your religious beliefs are not real because you are not a Catholic, make fun of your religion.
Have they disrespected you?
Like I said I did not disrespect I questioned.
I asked you to show me where I disrespected the Catholic religion. You have not provided any to back your alligations. Do you think you can do that instead of accusing me without proof of your alligations against me?
If you can’t provide the evidence then you yourself are disrespecting and giving false alligations against me in order to defame me among your fellow Catholics.
***Jesus etablshed ONE Church… ONE…Never said I hate the Catholic church. I said I don’t believe in some of their way and beliefs. Its not hate if you don’t believe. Once again just because I don’t believe in some of the things about the Catholic faith don’t make it bad. I’m not St. Justin Martyr and I see not discription in the Bible that you should only worship the way Catholics do. I know you can refute each and every one of my items with scripture, tradition or both. You wouldn’t be the first one to refute it. Once again I never said I hate the Catholic church so much, I just disagree with some of their way. I never said the word hate, to disagree isn’t hate. Have you ever disagreed with someone? I know you have because you are disagreeing with me, so then according to you you would hate that person you disagree with…
