Feast of Saint Thomas, Apostle

Reading 1
Eph 2:19-22
***Brothers and sisters:
You are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones
and members of the household of God, ***
built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure is held together
and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;
in him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Ps 117:1bc, 2
Responsorial Psalm
R. (Mark 16:15) Go out to all the world and tell the Good News.
Praise the LORD, all you nations;
glorify him, all you peoples!

For steadfast is his kindness for us,

Gospel
Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve,
was not with them when Jesus came.
So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
But Thomas said to them,
"Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
and put my finger into the nailmarks
and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."
Now a week later his disciples were again inside
and Thomas was with them.
Jesus came, although the doors were locked,
and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands,
and bring your hand and put it into my side,
and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”
Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

There is no one-time acceptance of Christ, meaning there is no OncSavedAlwaysSaved as this and many other psgs show… There is no one-time incident that precludes having to do anything else… It says that we are being built into this holy temple… We are not instantly & perfectly this holy temple… We are not perfectly holy as is required to enter Heaven just because we have had a “born again” experience in the past… altho in a certain way we are in such a state when it 1st happens… but we are sinners regardless…and so we will not stay in this state of grace unless we were to die as soon as we were “born again” Even that may be questionable… Only God knows… We should never presume that we ourslelvs or anyone else is going to Heaven as soon as s/he dies… not too good to presume w/ God… :hypno:
Also the Bible indicates that we must be born again of WATER and the Spirit… (St John)not just one or the other… so unbaptized people… Well, i agree that being baptized in the Holy Spirit would be sufficient to get directly into HEaven… but again, only if one were to die right afterwards… and never have the chance of sinning ever again. The one who says he is without sin is a liar and the truth is not in him… and we have to be sin-less in order to enter Heaven… can’t even have the desire to sin… No impure thing will enter Heaven (Bk of Revelation)
In the gospel JEsus says blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe…
wow… Is he saying that those who actually SAW Him and walked with HIm are not quite as blessed as those who have NOT yet believe? hmm… kinda strange…
But all those who have been in His Real PResence HAVE … “seen” Him…
many (including myself) beleived long b4 they discoverd the RP…
actually i can’t beleive those who claim to have heard about JEsus and do NOT believe…
i think they are being less than honest… I think they only claim to not belive… cuz they don’t want to be held up to such high standards as Crhstianity requires…
