You found someone who has a problem with Santa Claus? I would suggest you run the other way. They either have a screw loose or just want attention. Maybe his shows ratings are down. Stop listening and make his ratings even worse. LOL

Start listening to quality entertainment.

What would be a good argument against this ridiculous logic?
Logic? There is no logic in this, only ignorance. No argument against it, only proof that of the etymology of the word “santa”…i.e. “saint”. But I doubt proof would convince them.

Probably best to lob an Our Father or Divine Mercy Chaplet their way and hope for the best.

If you rearrange “mother in law,” you get “woman Hitler.”

:o

Actually, the dude is a hypocrite. He says that Christmas is all a “good thing because it celebrates the birth of Christ.” But oh, no, Santa Claus is evil!🤷
You should blow their minds by telling them Christmas is “Christ’s Mass”
As in Christ’s Catholic Mass!
That’ll stop their hearts!!!

Unfortunately, some fundamentalist Protestants believe that Santa Clause is some kind of evil invention or something. I don’t remember the entire story of what these fundamentalist Protestants believe about Santa Clause but I attended a fundamentalist Baptist church before I became Catholic that had this belief. It used to be on their web page but it no longer is.

That said, I would personally write a letter of grievance and explain to them that Santa Clause is a fictional character based upon a saint named Saint Nicholas of Myra. Since the radio station is probably owned by fundamentalists, you probably won’t want to bring up the topic of saints. Just simply say that Santa is based upon a holy historical figure in Christianity known as Nicholas of Myra and maybe even tell the story behind him and tell them how he came to be associated with Christmas. Maybe if you do this you can clear up some ignorance about Santa and the figure he is based upon.

Now, granted, if you want, you can bring up that Nicholas of Myra was a Saint. You don’t have to but if you do, know that they may write you back or call you and try to debate you about saints.

That said, you could also try the approach in your letter of refuting whatever argument they used against Santa. If they are some Christian sect that doesn’t celebrate the modern Christian holiday of Christmas, you can refute that argument using this quick answer:

Do you know that the word “evangelist” can be rearranged to form “evil’s agent”? I guess we shouldn’t call anyone an “evangelist” then. Too bad the Bible does. Such moronic arguments.

There is a local so-called Christian talk station on our AM dial around here called WSHO. What would be a good argument against this ridiculous logic?
you cannot argue from logic with people who are unfamiliar with the concept

by their reckoning any town with Santa in its name must by definition be Satanic, like Santa Barbara, Santa Clara etc.

So Santa = Satan??? How shocking!

And does this mean that Rudolf was named after Rudolf Hess???

And that Blitzen is associated with blitzkrieg???

And what about the reindeer named Cupid? Cupid is actually the name of a pagan god!!!

Oh no!!! Pagan nazi reindeer flying over our homes!!! Run for your lives!!!

There is a local so-called Christian talk station on our AM dial around here called WSHO that goes back and forth in its anti-Catholicism. Recently, it brought it back in full force. Yesterday, it perpetuated the “Satan Claus” argument, saying if you rearrange Santa’s name, you get Satan. I’m thinking of writing a letter of grievance to them. What would be a good argument against this ridiculous logic?
yea i get that station around here and they were knocking the Jesuits real bad. and this guy was saying Rome was the anti christ…

wanna get grossed out check out this guy that is on that station

The program that airs at 1:00pm is entitled, “Worldview

Stolen from Dana Carvey’s “Church Lady.” Early 1990’s.

My mom is Catholic and every year her parish priest dresses as Santa Claus and tells the Christian story of St. Nicholas… The parents have given each of their children gag gifts and the kids exchange gifts with each other at the annual Christmas bazaar…

You can be Christian and believe in Santa Claus (or Jewish like me for that matter)… 👍

The whole notion of telling children that Santa Claus exists is unconscionable. Why tell children lies ?

I’d actually be willing to watch that, if it were made into a movie. 😉
The closest thing to this that I can think of and what this topic reminds me of is some really cheezy movie called Santa’s Slay. If I remember correctly, it stars some wrestler, Goldberg, and its about Santa really being Satan and finally being freed after a thousand years to kill again rather than give toys out. I’m not sure why I watched this movie but it was one of those stupid movies that was just on and that you know you should just change the channel or turn the tv off but instead just keep watching.

With regards to the argument.

Santa actually means saint in spanish. Claus refers to Nicholas as in St. Nicholas. Only problem there is that Santa is for woman saints but San Clause just doesn’t sound right.
