In light of the black mass that recently occurred in Oklahoma City, I think the Catholic community needs to begin to discuss what we are going to do to prevent things like this from happening again in the future. Any ideas?

That’s the thing about religious freedom, anyone has the right to believe and pray to any God they wish. One should not be able to prevent another from practicing any religion. Obviously exceptions are when one is harming or blatantly damaging others. I believe that all these “Satanic” black masses are merely publicity stunts.

Those who are able to can go to daily Mass, increase our prayer lives, and fill our churches at the times they have adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Also, meditate on the beatitudes.

The more we allow the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ to fill us, the more the darkness will recede.

We can begin by asking our Blessed Mother, Jesus, Saint Michael the archangel, all of Heaven to pray for us and with us to make reparation against the wounds of His most Precious, wounded Sacred Heart. We can pray twice as much, and twice as hard!!! Those who follow black masses don’t pray or do acts of reparation, they are too busy enjoying lust, gluttony, pride, etc. So if we keep busy praying, we can do our part.

I totally agree with you. We also need to get better at learning our faith, and not being afraid of evangelizing.

I did see that Protestants were at the manifestation, but I think that all Christian Churches should be worried about this

Nothing anyone can do about it, in the US anyone is free to practice whatever religion they like.

Although I think most get involved for the shock value, and are pretty much harmless, the ones that we must truly worry about are the satanists who keep quiet in public, yet hold very high positions of power, like CEOs, high level Govt people, entertainers, etc.I do think these people could be dangerous if they were assisted by demonic power.

I just wonder if the people who take part in this, actually feel the presence of Lucifer.

There will be more black masses. Their sole goal was to have this mass so then they could proceed to other communties with the same mass.

They will probably try to get it to go to the Supreme Court for a court decision.

I am far more afraid of what happens to the people involved in this horrible thing than what the outcome will be for the Church.

Satan has no power over the Church but he longs for power over the young people who will be attracted to this evil.

We must all pray for those participating because, except for a few, I think most of the participants are in it just for the fun and shock value.

Certainly the ones who are organizing and setting up the satanic masses do belong to Satan but the objective is for the destruction of souls.

I can almost hear the voice of Christ, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Many participants do not know what they are doing and this evil can grow in their souls until they no longer care.

Absolutely. Satan has a way of carrying around enough rope to hang himself. This evil is so manifestly evil it can not hide its intent. Even evils that are hidden in words like “woman’s choice” “die with dignity” will some day be known.

We must keep on praying and speaking Christ’s truth with love and charity.

  1. amend the Constitution to repeal freedom of religion
  2. learn to live with the consequences

I’m not sure how to put this, but from the pictures that were in the newspaper, this was poorly attended and pretty amateur hour. It looks like some kids/people that shot at one of those hot topic mall stores and hang out at gamestop. Simply people that are anti religion. I highly doubt many of them are actual satanists. And they didn’t use a consecrated host.

I don’t think this is going to be gaining much steam.

The only thing we can really do to stop it is pray and fight it legally. While it is true that ther eis Freedom of Religion, there are also laws in place for public venues. We need to make sure these laws are enforced.

I don’t think the OP is asking how we can stop black masses. Rather, it’s how can we stop theft of the Eucharist to be used in such. There is nothing that can completely eliminate it, but there are some measures that can severely curtail it but they are things that not many Catholics want to really entertain:
  1. Seriously cut down on the use of EMHCs.
  2. Return to communion on the tongue.

Truly, I don’t care what they do.

Not long ago I was in the Communion line when our priest stopped a couple young guys who had just received in the hand and started to walk away without putting it in their mouths. A few minutes later he smirked and shook his head.

If Satanists are trying to steal consecrated hosts, isn’t that an admittance that they believe it is the body & blood of Christ?

It appears that they are led to do Satan’s bidding when they steal consecrated hosts from a Catholic Church. I never heard of a Satanist stealing crackers from a church that does not believe in the Real Presence.

Much prayer is needed!

*Freedom of Religion has zero to do with this argument.

Black Masses are a hate crime. 99.9% of religions out there do not have a ritual that is designed specifically to mock that of another faith. Anyone ever read about what goes on at Black Mass? If you haven’t and think they have a right to it, then friend, you are certainly misguided…*

Care to try that argument in court then?

Without a doubt Satan believes that the host is the Body and Blood of Christ so I think his followers do as well. It is not sometime they “admit” to. It is something they wish to ridicule and debase.

Well in Oklahoma it is illegal to hold an event containing blasphemy in a public venue so…I’m guessing the archbishop could have taken this to court on good grounds but once the host was retrieved there was no sense in taking it to court
