Satanic rosaries

I came across this article while reading today and I’ve never heard of this before.

Has anyone actually heard of this before or is it a myth

We’ve had heated threads on this issue before.

It seems that some priest in the Philippines way overreacted to a plastic molded rosary that appears to have a design of the sun, and some mold marks or a wavy banner type design, on the crucifix.

These rosaries are just cheap molded rosaries that are often handed out free at churches. I currently have one because a nun was handing them out as a free gift to my prayer group. I had it blessed and keep it in the car as an emergency rosary when I rush out of the house and forget my own, or when I am going someplace that I don’t want to take a fancy rosary because I might lose it. Nothing satanic about the rosary, especially now it’s been blessed.

I’m sad to say that satanic rosaries can be purchased on Amazon. It has blasphemous symbols on it. I am sickened.

@paperwight Yes they are. Easy to find on google search.

Yes, they are described as satanic. I’d rather not mention the names of the sellers. Just go on Amazon and search for the beads described in the OP’s post. Here’s paraphrased description of the product.

Rosary necklace for Devil Worshipers and Satanists for rituals and public pride symbols.

Those have a pentagram and upside down cross so it’s pretty clear what they’re supposed to be. I’m willing to bet most folks who buy them just wear then as jewelry, not that I condone buying one.

I think this is something that teenagers and immature adults do to troll people.

They really aren’t praying using satanic rosaries, I think they are just stirring the pot.

I think if you analyze where this product is sold, the vast majority are in areas with significant numbers of Catholics. Very few I would bet in locations dominated by other religious traditions.

In my area they aren’t even sold. The rosaries in question are the cheap plastic and string kind that churches give away by the dozen to people who need a free rosary. Usually they come with a little “how to pray the rosary” pamphlet.

Names mean nothing . They are just a string of beads and not the Rosary.
Don’t dialogue with the devil.

I have a car, it’s not a Porsche, it’s still a car.

The Rosary the OP is discussing is a free Rosary made and distributed by charities . They are given out free at all the Parishes in my Diocese.

The devil would love us to reject them.

My fiance has a cheap plastic rosary and it is pretty special ( I know for certain it wasn’t part of some satanic ritual) , he got given it at world youth day in Sydney when he went to see the pope ( I was so angry with him for wanting to see the pope while our son was in hospital)
It’s not as pretty nor as expensive as my purple one he brought me when I got baptised however it means just as much as mine does as it marks a hugely important step in his faith as a catholic.

I just don’t get why people would put so much time and effort into praying satanic rituals over a rosary especially when most of them get blessed wouldn’t the blessing remove the curse anyway.

I want to clarify what I said earlier. I am in no way speaking about the Rosaries from the Philippines and plastic Rosaries given out by charities.

I was making the point that satanic “rosary” style necklaces with blasphemous symbols are sold on Amazon. To bring it back to the OP’s post, Satanists operate out in the open these days. They sell their goods openly.

The pentagram actually originally represented the 5 wounds of Jesus. In English literature, Sir Gawain of the Knights of the Round Table has the symbol on his shield.
Also if you go to Capernaum, you can see pentagrams as part of the design on the remaining ruins of the synagogue from the 4th century (it was just a design element, not representing Jesus, magic or anything else).

And the upside-down cross represents St. Peter.

I’m not going to run out and buy one of those Amazon rosaries just because of that, but I often think it would be nice if us Catholics rose up and took our symbols back from those who pervert them.

The five-pointed star is also a poice badge. It is a symbol of human and state authority, not necessarily in contrast to the Church’s authority, sometimes actually in cooperation with it, but of course the Communists used a red star which was also five-pointed as a symbol of the state and communist system. Five-pointed stars also appear on heraldry and on the flags of many countries including the USA. the number 5 has an ancient symbolism often connected with justice and the law. Think the five books of the Pentateuch. There is nothing intrinsically evil there but evil systems may in cases have co-opted it.

The star appears as Christmas decoration and if you squint you can recognize in the five points the head, two wings and two feet of an angel. In a statnic sense it sometimes gets turned over so you have two points upward so you have the two horns, the two whiskers and the pointed beard of a demon.

Yes exactly symbols are just what we make of them
My hindu ex had a shrine and some of the symbols on it was amazing. I remember saying What the bacon is this at one of them as it was a swastikah but in reverse. He told me the meaning of it and it was so beautiful.

In the late 1800s we had a US President named Garfield who was assassinated. It was considered a great tragedy at the time and the whole country was sad about it. He and his wife are buried in a large, beautiful memorial building decorated with a lot of tiles on the floors and walls, stained glass windows, statues etc.
The whole floor is patterned with swastikas, dozens and dozens of them. It was just considered a popular symbol for a design then when the building was constructed, as it was many years before Hitler used it.

Technically, it was used by the Greeks before that, but as far as I can tell, its first major religious use was in Christianity.

I actually would find it odd to have a Cross of St. Peter Rosary. The Rosary is centered on the life of Christ and replacing the major Christological item of the Rosary, the Crucifix, doesn’t seem fitting. That said, I might get one with a pentagram just as a conversation starter and to practice thinking of Christ when I see one.
it was a swastikah
One thing I found weird in India was seeing the Swastika a lot. I always had to remind myself that it wasn’t a Nazi symbol there.

Around here, I also saw a guy paint one on the hood of his car for a major Indian holiday. I had to double check to make sure I saw it right, but once I saw the guy was Indian and in traditional attire, I realized what was going on. That said, the place I live has some…aggressive…antifa members, and I was concerned for his safety.
