No, I definitely intended to post this here. 😃 (Though I’ll leave the better judgment to the mods of course.)

I really found this to be a nice satire of the things that can at times go on in certain academic fields: biblical studies being one of them. 😉

“1000 years in the future, the legacy of John, Paul, Greg, and Scottie remains.”

I enjoyed the clip immensely. As it was about the Beatles, I thought immediately of the Rutles spoof documentary of the mid-70s done by Monty Python’s Eric Idle and members of the hilarious Bonzo Dog Ban (Neil Innes, Viv Stanshall …).

But the futuristic bungling and matter of fact tone of the “historians” reminded me of this quick clip from Woody Allen’s “Sleeper” (1973). As cryogenically UNfrozen health food enthusiast Miles Monroe (Allen) meanders about in a wheelchair in the background … the doctors who unfroze him years in the future discuss what to feed him for breakfast …

youtube.com/watch?v=1yCeFmn_e2c < the last lines are epic. And remind me of some of the “science assures us …” stuff that science later reverses years later (with that same self-assured manner however). ;)😃 What do you MEAN there aren’t really canals on Mars??!

my.mail.ru/inbox/ironer/video/10571/39860.html < The “Rutles” were pretty good too … as music makers and film spoofers. Love the Beatles/Monkees genre clips and the song! 👍
