Saturday Confession Times

A parish near me recently changed Saturday Confession time to after morning Mass from before evening Mass. I’m not questioning why so there’s no need for me to ask the pastor why the change. I welcome it. It gives me an extra Saturday option in addition to the afternoon Confessions at all the other parishes in the area. Does anyone else have Saturday morning Confessions in your parish either in addition to afternoon Confession or in place of it?

Yes, we have 2 hours of Confession on Saturday mornings and the priests will stay as long as there are penitants. On First Saturdays there’s 3.5-4 hours.

That’s great. That priest reminds me of Padre Pio who was known for doing Confessions all day long.

Many churches around here have confession for half an hour in the morning either just before or just after the Saturday daily Mass, and another half hour to an hour in the afternoon just before the afternoon vigil Mass for Sunday.
The morning time slot is popular with the early risers and the First Saturday devotees.

The MassTImes app also brings up some churches that have confessions on days of the week other than Saturday. There are some churches, usually in major cities, that have confession daily during the noon hour.

I live in rural california, we basically have one Catholic church for each town around us.

I used to go to Saturday morning confessions around 9am in a different town near.
But I go now to confession in my local town’s parish, we have Saturday confession at 5pm and its great because it isnt usually that big of a line

EDIT: the priest in my town will do confessions for about half an hour or so, depends on the line. If there arent alot of people, he will have a quick day for confessions

There’s a couple parishes near me that has Saturday morning confessions. I love having this additional option as well.

My parish has confession times six days a week. It’s beautiful to see people receiving the sacrament – almost always a line (short or long) everywhere I go in the metro area.
