Any SNL out fans out there?

This season is really bad. I love the show, but the writing is awful.

Only the great Amy Poehler does well.

SNL needs some old blood:

Adam Sandler
Dana Carvey
Chris Farley
Phil Hartman
Jon Lovitz
Dennis Miller
Eddie Murphy

…pretty much everyone from past seasons.

Haven’t watched since “fight the real enemy.”

Only from ‘a van down by the river’, otherwise it’s past my bedtime.

…sorry, haven’t watched since the original cast left approx 15+ years or more ago…:o

The show got even worse after Will Ferrell left. I haven’t watched it since. I like Tina Fey, but I cannot STAND Jimmy Fallon. He is a moron! He can’t make it through one skit with out giggling. Bad actor/writer. I miss the old skits with Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Norm MacDonald, and Kevin Nealon. Those were the good 'ol days.

Shame they died. They were hilarious. I don’t ever watch SNL anymore, it’s tasteless. I really like watching reruns w/ Mike Meyers. He is soooo funny. But yeah, any of the old people were the biz!!

Going down hill fast. I cant even stand to see it anymore.

However one moment I will always remember is when Ashley Simpson biffed it on stage when the music started playing without her. I loved it, the fakes are finally exposed!!

I used to watch this show a lot in my early twenties, but not anymore. The last time I happened to be watching TV that late, I laughed for about two minutes and then turned it off in disgust. There is no subtlety or creativity any more. Just bodily humor jokes and attempts to shock.

I’m a geezer- we’re usually fast asleep by SNL time  . When I have caught snippits of the show, I have been really disappointed from what it used to be. Although, the last time I remember watching it, Ashton Kutcher was on and I thought his monologue was pretty funny. He was referring to the attention his relationship with Demi has brought because of the age gap and called her up to the stage. She was “grannied out” complete with dentures that got transposed when they smooched. I thought it was pretty funny, but a rare laugh from the show these days.

That was priceless…:rotfl:

Used to love SNL, but yeah, it’s not too great anymore. I miss Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri. (the cheerleaders 🙂 ) Now Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the only really funny ones.

I’m still a regular watcher; it’s certainly better than most other sketch shows. But the writing is lazy… they go for goofy jokes without developing any good premises. It used to be very clever.

The last new episode, with Tom Brady as the host, was pretty funny though.

I’m a fan. I think it’s great, but I miss Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon–two very funny Irishmen.

Don’t forget we lost John Belushi from the original cast.
1975-1985, SNL’s glory years.

Mr. Bill
The Church Lady
The Coneheads
The Loopners
THe orignial SNL News , Jane you ignorant…’(you know the rest!)

Even the musicaly guest were better!

It’s a shame, When MadTV first came on, I thought it was better than what was currently then on SNL.

And what about Second City
'Doug & Bob Great White North

AND
‘that blowed up real good!’ Does anyone else miss John Candy Too?!

those were the days.

i can’t stand the show anymore - except the weekend update. tina fey is funny.

i never could take will ferrell. his humor is too obvious and … well, just not funny, to me.

I used to really enjoy SNL but the last couple of seasons it seems that they run more and more comercials. There was a time when they would to two or even three bits in a row now it seems its one bit then a comercial.

My most favorite part was the News but ever since Tina Fey has taken over the writing of it, it has just become nasty and very left leaning. Its not funny any more especially with the cast members that they have doing the News the past two or three seasons.

It even seems that they are stretching on the characters they are coming up with.

I stopped watching after Adam Sandler and Mike Myers left.
I always loved the origional cast, no one can touch them. Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase and Jane Curtin are my absolute favorite. It seems every time I turn it on now a days it is all about the shock value so I usually do not watch past the first comercial.
Good Memories!

Yes! The original cast was the BEST! I remember the first show, it was either 2 weeks or the week before I got married:eek: I’m showing my age! I loved Bill Murray when he played the Lounge Singer! Also when he was "Todd " and Gilda was “Lisa Lubner!” How about a glass of Tang? How about Ackroyd as the Norge repairman:bigyikes: !! The funny skits are too numerous to name, but it’s so much fun to remember:rotfl: :clapping: . The current show is:yawn:  . I did like the times of SNL when Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman and Chris Farley were on too. They were really funny.
