That’s an interesting take. I think so too…I am not sure if we are ever to be ‘lazy,’ but we are to rest. Resting from our labors and laziness are two separate things.Sure, going to Mass Saturday evening can “count” for the Sunday obligation. But, we can’t forget that there is more to keeping the Lord’s Day holy than participating in Mass, and, all day Sunday is still the Lord’s Day, even if we attend a Saturday evening Mass. The “job” doesn’t end after Saturday Mass.
I only say this because I can tend to forget that, if I go to an anticipatory Mass… Sunday seems like a lazy day, not the Lord’s Day. Going to Mass on the day itself can help quash that mindlessness, at least for me.
