Yes you may. It is a common practice around here to be received into to the Church and have First Communion at the Easter Vigil, and then attend an Easter Sunday Mass the next day to receive Communion again.

Saturday vigil is considered the Sunday Mass. Yes, you can receive twice in the same day at the same Church or some other Catholic Church, but not at the same Mass.

Meaning you can’t literally get in line twice at the same Mass, not that the two Masses at which you receive have to differ liturgically.

Since the day is defined 12 AM to 12 AM, and not by the identity of the liturgy, you could theoretically assist at and receive Holy Communion at the Saturday vigil and at two Masses on Sunday. An altar server might do this when they’re needed at all 3 Masses.

The Latin word for this is iterum which means “once again” or the “second time” (on the same day).

You may receive once on Saturday morning and once at the Saturday vigil Mass provided you stay for the entire Mass.

Or you may receive once at the 4pm (for example) vigil and once at the 7pm Spanish Mass provided you stay for the entire Mass that same Saturday.

And you may receive twice again on Sunday, provided that you stay for the entire second Mass.

You may go to as many Masses as you want to go to. There is no limit.

There are restrictions on receiving Communion. You can only receive if you are not in a state of grave sin. If you are then you must go to confession first to receive absolution from those grave sins.

The first time you receive Communion on a day: you can receive it in any permitted circumstances including outside of Mass. If you receive a second time: it must normally be during Mass. You could receive a second time as Viaticum but obviously this is rare. If you need Viaticum and have already received twice you can receive Viaticum. It is also necessary to remember you can also only receive Viaticum once per day.

Normally then you can receive Communion no more than twice per day and the second time must be at Mass. If Viaticum is taken into account the absolute maximum is thrice per day.
