I agree that Salafi mosques are spreading poison and hate, but I fail to see how mass murder of unarmed civilians and children is a problem of “education”. This sounds like a boilerplate meaningless cop-out to me.

The statements are all nonsense. Mohammedan Arabs were happy to kill and enslave other Arabs and peninsular peoples without any Christians or Jews around. Sunnis and Shiites have been fighting for centuries. Individual tribes carry on constant skirmishes; individual clans and families constantly feud. Any “new global colonialism” or “world Zionism” if anything is reducing “tensions” in the region by providing a focal point for Mohammedans of disparate stripes to ally against a perceived common enemy/ies.

The wholesale genocide of populations simply for identifying as Christian - which is what is happening in the region right now - is pretty much the most crystal clear example of a criterion for “just war” as we’ve ever seen. After the enemy is defeated is the time for education; until then the only option is surrender or battle. Since the enemy makes a practice of attacking schools, building new schools is a foolish endeavor until the enemy is defeated.

In my view the “Islamic experts” fell short of transparency and repeated a polemical tract. He is repeating the comments which came out of the University in Egypt via el-Sisi the other day on a pan-gulf alignment with re-form.

Its narrow minded here; “to accuse Muslims of being unbelievers”

You can accuse Christians and Jews but not muslims and what does that mean in relation to tolerance of the three as opposed to secular atheists?
Before this, Al-Azhar had issued a statement slamming the “barbaric crimes” committed by IS. Reacting to the aforementioned incident, it stated that the Qur’an prescribes “killing, crucifixion and chopping of the limbs” for those who kill innocent people.

Religious reform in Islam is clearly needed. The downside is islam has no central leader so there are multiple interpretations to the koran and Hadith. There are schools of thought but they vary and stress different views.

That’s ultimately the issue. The majority of Muslims just want to live their lives in peace and so they choose to read the Koran in a more moderate way where the jihad is more a spiritual event. But, there will always be a more fundamentalist minority that takes it literally. So the moderates appease them by implementing Sharia when in control of a country.

The thread of violence in the Koran can never be removed so this is the tightrope all muslim politicians walk.
