Do any of you shop at sav-a-lot? I want to cut expenses, where possible, and I was thinking of trying them out. My husband is not really a “generic” kinda guy.:o …So, I’m wondering how the quality of the products compare to name brand equivilants.

I tried Angel Food, but that was a flop for us. The food was inexpensive, but how much breaded chicken should I be feeding my family? We bought a box every month for 4 or 5 months, but seemed like the quality kept getting worse and worse, and the box was mostly filled with fastfood type junk.🤷

I’ve been in the one near us a few times. The produce quality at that store, at least, is very high, and I was able to find some things like name-brand turkey bacon at a great price. I didn’t buy too many of the non-perishables- maybe some canned beans. They were fine. 🤷

Maybe you could bring your husband around slowly- start him off on store brands from the grocery store where you usually shop. Those are still good deals.

We call the one here Mold A Lot, yes, moldy bread and bagles. There is also a Price Chopper, the produce there is horrid.

Hope yours is better than ours!
