You mean you want to rescue Catholics from teh Mass that has been in place for 2000 yrs? Hummm…
I would strongly recommend you study the history of the mass, because it was not conducted this way for 2000 years. More like 500 years. And, while that’s a long time, it is flat out wrong to say that this is the only way Mass has ever been celebrated. There are some good books out there, one of them being, “A Short History of the Mass” that may help you to gain a better understand of how the Mass has changed many times since instituted by Christ.

who will save you from the masonic Novus Ordo Missae?
This type of misinformation and attacking really doesn’t help promote a good understanding of either argument, nor would I consider it to be charitable in any way. All this type of comment does is stir the pot and create even more seperation among two groups who desperately need, and I think honestly seek, reconciliation.

This thread is a very old thread and not even worth responding to as I’m sure the OP has moved on.
Truelight, I didn’t even notice the date on the thread, but you are absolutely right. Hopefully it will just be closed or deleted.

Again, this comment was made in 2004. It doesn’t make sense to respond to it now.

Besides the user was banned probably years ago. 🤷

Seven years and counting. This one might be a record:thumbsup:👍

Come on stop the meaness! Can’t we all just unite behind the Holy Father and stop fight?! 😃

Let there be peace NO MORE MALICE over SSPX and the Church!

The notion that one cannot be more Catholic than the Pope is absolutely dangerous because it borders on deification and papal idolatry if taken at face value.

Yes, you can be more Catholic than the Pope. Not all Popes are saints; not all of them do their duty well (some do it extremely badly in fact); not all Popes are directly guaranteed a spot in Heaven; not every little thing a Pope does is infallible; etc.

What people mean to say is perhaps something like:

The Pope is the supreme lawgiver of the Church, and to try and usurp or question his authority in that regard is dangerous and wrong. Furthermore, the Office of Peter requires a certain amount of respect that we should always hold in mind regarding his decisions. Hold the Office in high regard, and unless there is proof or valid reason to think otherwise, hold the man who occupies the Chair of Peter in high regard too.

/back to not posting (though I occasionally post when absolutely necessary as I see it)

Otherwise, I’m not posting here because this is so old.
