The words of the mass are virtually the same as they were in the 2nd century.
I would strongly recommend you study the history of the mass, because it was not conducted this way for 2000 years. More like 500 years. And, while that’s a long time, it is flat out wrong to say that this is the only way Mass has ever been celebrated. There are some good books out there, one of them being, “A Short History of the Mass” that may help you to gain a better understand of how the Mass has changed many times since instituted by Christ. You mean you want to rescue Catholics from teh Mass that has been in place for 2000 yrs? Hummm…
This type of misinformation and attacking really doesn’t help promote a good understanding of either argument, nor would I consider it to be charitable in any way. All this type of comment does is stir the pot and create even more seperation among two groups who desperately need, and I think honestly seek, reconciliation.who will save you from the masonic Novus Ordo Missae?

Truelight, I didn’t even notice the date on the thread, but you are absolutely right. Hopefully it will just be closed or deleted. This thread is a very old thread and not even worth responding to as I’m sure the OP has moved on.
Again, this comment was made in 2004. Besides the user was banned probably years ago.![]()
The notion that one cannot be more Catholic than the Pope is absolutely dangerous because it borders on deification and papal idolatry if taken at face value.
