Hi **look3467

You misunderstand what I was trying to say. As Tonks so simply but accurately said, Jesus is our salvation, but we canât know for sure, without a doubt that we are going to heaven because that would require divination to know whether or not we were going to persevere until the end. All the Scripture I posted was talking about our âhopeâ of heaven and persevering until the end.
If you do not believe in Once saved always saved, then the verses really missed the target for that was the intent. If you believe after you have been saved, we must continue to âwalk the walkâ then we are on the same page.
But we can do absolutely nothing to be saved. It is a free gift from God that we simply must accept and say yes to. If you think Catholic position in any way says we earn our way to heaven you are mistaken.
Doing anything does not save you, but as James says, âa faith without works is deadâ. Works point to the evidence of your faith. Works are âwalking the walkâ.
If you say you have faith but do nothing, yours is a dead faith and worth nothing.

God Bless,
Maria

You are correct. And the biggest misunderstanding is that people think Catholics think we need to âdoâ something to be saved. We Donât. We never have.Posted by look3467
Now the question has always been, âwe must do our part, otherwise, we will not gain salvationâ.
The thought that we should âdoâ something for our salvation has been the crux and the great misunderstanding.

If you say you have faith but do nothing, yours is a dead faith and worth nothing.
Here is salvation of our souls, Jesus in us, and in Jesus there is life.
Praise be to Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

God Bless,
Maria
