And don’t call me ignorant, as i won’t call you that either despite the fact we disagree. My favorite teacher is a calvinist while I am certainly not, but he isn’t ignorant, he is smarter than I.

I have no problem with what you said. The Church should be one.
The question is weather oneness is in the hierarchy, or a common love and communion. That is a question we disagree on, and should not argue over (i’m to lazy to get out my bible, but i know it somewhere says to avoid useless controversies).

Bottom line we are brothers in Christ.
I may consider you apart of the same “church” as me and you may not.

Peace be with you until the very end of the age.
This is hardly a useless controversy. John dedicated an entire chapter to Jesus’ prayer for unity. I would say that it is of utmost importance because without it, Jesus’ fervent wish is being made a mockery.

You’re right, though - we ARE brothers in Christ. Unfortunately, you are a separated brother and whereas we both place our hope in Jesus, we are not part of the same Church. I wish we were - I truly do.

It’s kind of like a divorce. Your spiritual ancestors (“Reformers”) divorced themselves from the Catholic Church. Their legacy is that they left you and countless others separated from the only Church that Jesus established. This doesn’t mean that we are not brothers.

PS - I never called you ignorant. I don’t believe you to be.
