I have a question of all of you…
Have you been saved and if so what were you saved from?

Yes, from hell.I have a question of all of you…

So basically you were saved from punishment correct?Yes, from hell.
Eternal Punishment. So basically you were saved from punishment correct?
Yours in Christ

I was saved from eternal separation from God. That would be one kind of punishment. So basically you were saved from punishment correct?

That would be the worst kind of punishment. If that is indeed our punishment who meets it out?I was saved from eternal separation from God. That would be one kind of punishment.
God gives us a choice NOW will we Choose Him or not. at judgment, that decision is revealed. (We do not decide at Judgment by then it decided already.) God simply sends us to the eternity that we chose. That would be the worst kind of punishment. If that is indeed our punishment who meets it out?

As the previous poster said, we choose. That is what this life here on earth is all about. Choosing where we will be in eternity. One of our previous priests used to say, “We are immortal creatures on a mortal journey.” We are already immortal. This isn’t something that happens when we shuffle off this mortal coil and if we have been ‘good’, we receive eternal life and go to heaven and those who weren’t just cease to exist. That would be the worst kind of punishment. If that is indeed our punishment who meets it out?

I have to say the answers I’ve gotten so far haven’t been what I expected. Your typical Protestant will give a very different answer. As the previous poster said, we choose. If you want to be with God in heaven, you need to choose to be with Him NOW. Those who choose not to be with God now will have their choice honoured and they will be without God for eternity. I cannot imagine anything worse.
So basically you’ve been saved from God?We are saved from the wrath of God, by the grace of God.
All this time I thought I was a typical protestant!I have to say the answers I’ve gotten so far haven’t been what I expected. Your typical Protestant will give a very different answer.

Dosen’t God send us to one of two eternities he allows, after creating us?God gives us a choice NOW will we Choose Him or not. at judgment, that decision is revealed. (We do not decide at Judgment by then it decided already.) God simply sends us to the eternity that we chose.
True but you can make some generalizations. Almost invariably a Protestant will tell you that you are saved from the wrath of God.Joseph…Joseph…Josheph…
Not all protestants are the same. If you took the sum of some of the Protestant beleives you’d have a subset of Catholicism.
Yes, but in this case, the Scientist (God) made sure that every Rat(humans) had the ability(God’s Grace) to get to the cheese(salvation). IF the rat stubbornly refuses to eat the cheese, it is the fault of the rat.Dosen’t God send us to one of two eternities he allows, after creating us?
I don’t see however you can reduce this to fully our choices, we never asked to be created, nor to have immortal souls.
That’s kind of like droping a rat in a cage with cheese in the center but no other food present, and saying if he lives it’s by his abilities, if he starves it’s by his abilities, either way I’m not responsiable isin’t it?
The rat in the maze has the ability to eat the cheese, if he manages to navigate the maze, simmilairly, if humans manage to wade through all the evidence, make a correct, though unverifiable decision on a religion to stick with, happens to be right, and then maintains the tennents of that religion to meet the qualifications not to be damned, then he can get to heaven. That’s not our choice, that’s a contrived circumstance we are put in.Yes, but in this case, the Scientist (God) made sure that every Rat(humans) had the ability(God’s Grace) to get to the cheese(salvation). Firstly, God’s Grace ensure that we are ALL capable of navigating the maze and obtaining the cheese. That’s not our choice, that’s a contrived circumstance we are put in.
