Your comment is stupid or are you seriously suggesting God can fail at anything?
God cannot fail but we can. God does not send anyone to Hell. Whoever dies in a state of unrepented mortal sin has rejected God’s love and has condemned themselves to Hell.

He “fails” only in that we have free will. He is the Savior of the World, because all
are given the free choice to follow Him. All can be saved! Not just the ones who
successfully follow all Jewish laws and customs. The law of love has been
demonstrated. You see, the road to hell may be broad, but no one has to take it
if they don’t want to. Jesus has opened the narrow road to all.

In your way of thinking, to “succeed”, would Jesus have to take away free will?

I wonder if this example makes sense: you have just won the lottery. More than
enough money than you could even spend in your life. But you don’t go and redeem
your ticket, and yet you say that the lottery failed to give you your prize.

Christ did not fail as Saviour of the World, we fail when we reject Him.

are you just repeating what you heard or read or have you really checked it out and verified it.May be Adam and Eve had real freewill and therefore guilty but we with our flawed and faulty freewill cannot really be judged as if we had real freewill.Imho this is why Christ took and takes pity on us "Father forgive them, they know not what they do"imho - twinc

Jesus did not fail, He did His part, He had it so anyone anywhere can be saved, they just need to repent. The Church calls Christ “universal savior” because salvation is offered to anyone.

Why are you opening dozens of threads and then being condescending to the posters who make comments. It seems you think you are always right and everyone else is wrong.
Are you smoking something?

This is simply blasphemous, you call yourself a Christian? To answer your question, no; Jesus redeemed mankind and made it possible for us to go to heaven, but we still have to do our part.

We do not have a “flawed and faulty” free-will. Humans always chose what we do, whether it be reject or accept God, we chose. While we do choose and have a reall free-will, there is such a thing called concupiscence - the inclination to sin - which was left on man’s soul after the original sin. This does not mean we don’t choose, because we do, this just pushes us the wrong way; and before you say anything, there is, in fact, something that pushes us toward God: actual grace. Catholic Answers provides a good explanation of grace here, I suggest you read it.

I agree that he should not treat his respondents the way he does (or she, if you’re a girl), but responding the way you did was not distancing yourself from him/her much.

That is such an interesting question, like all your questions, I am really enjoying
them although, it’s almost too fast for me. Naturally I assume I am repeating what
I have heard or read, how else would I find out? Would that I heard the voice of
God Himself! As far as our freewill being faulty compared to Adam and Eve, I will
have to disagree. They knew nothing, and comparatively speaking, we know
everything, Jesus has come, and left His church. No one can trick us, not even
the devil. To whom much has been given, much will be required. Have mercy on
us Lord!

Please don’t respond to the thresdstarter. He is trolling. Where are the mods??? This person has started 20 topics on the front page, each with a"!?".

Yes my comments were abrasive. It is deliberate to try to get him/her to see the point. In all the other threads the softly softly approach has made no difference. twinc just ignores it and continues to spout rubbish.

Rubbish? They are far from rubbish. They are very important questions.
When people are through answering them, we will have a valuable resource,
in common language. Ordinary people, using their church, their faith, their
catechism, the Bible, to express eternal truths in the most simplest terms possible,
the way the questions are. It is counter-productive to be offended, what good is it
to just listen to ourselves, and whoever agrees with us? Isn’t that just a waste of
time? We can take these questions, and make good use out of them.
He or she is not your priest, giving you a homily, and if you hate short questions
with exclamation points, don’t click on them.

Christ did not fail as Saviour of the World, we fail when we reject Him.
But it seems we have to deal with the question of the chosen few.Jesus said “you have not chosen me I have chosen you” and he also said “many are called but few are chosen”.If we were to consider persentages what percentage would you think were on the narrow road and what percentage on the broad.Somewhere I read that someone had conjectured that only 4% were on the narrow.Be that as it may it seems that since 97% of Catholic school leavers walk away from the Church each year that 4% could be right - twinc

Sorry so many are leaving in the UK. But at the same time, there are many Anglicans requesting entry. (Psalm 107:33-38 comes to mind.)
Are you coming in or going out??🙂

cheeto:Adam was created in the image and likeness of God before the Fall and very good knowing nothing - that is not very good,a brainless zombie with freewill does not make sense. As for hearing the voice of God,Adam did.As for freedom of choice - if I prove to your satisfaction and approval that in the major events of our lives we were not consulted or had any choice .So meanwhile go back to the major events in your life and check it out to see where freewill or choice comes in at all - start with where you were born or when, did you choose male or female, black or white, did you choose your parents.your country, your religion etc - check it out for yourself etc - twinc

cheeto1;5931621:
As for freedom of choice - if I prove to your satisfaction and approval that in the major events of our lives we were not consulted or had any choice .
Perhaps God disagrees that these are the major events of our lives. God chose
Jesus’ parents, His location of birth, His nationality, His religion. I am sure He got
no choice to decide when Mary should change His diaper. All these things are not
really the major events of life.

He had a choice of whether to obey His parents.
He had a choice of whether He would listen to the temptation of the devil in the desert.
He freely chose to be baptised.
He chose to pray.

What do you think might happen in our lives if we made the choices Jesus did?

Jesus was a different kettlr of fish. How about you - did you or did you not have freedom of choice - twinc
