I’m wondering if you either play an instrument …or wish you could ,kind of can’t sit still when you hear music, wish you could join in?If you haven’t learnt how to play, what instrument would you have liked to have learnt?
…or still might learn?
I play the piano a bit ,I can’t read music though.I would have loved to have learnt the violin and button accordion along with piano(if only I had the patience!) Oh, and the tin whistle!

I can’t read music either, but I can play a few songs on the tin whistle. I love the tin whistle, I have what is called a “tweaked” tin whistle. I don’t have the gift of learning by ear, I have some papers that show me what holes to cover and when 😂

I played the trumpet in high school. Learned some basic guitar chords and some piano in grade school. On harmonica and tin whistle, I can pick out a tune. But I never got proficient with reading music, which might be related to my overall math disconnect. I could play by ear well enough though, which got me through those years in the marching band and school orchestra. I don’t play anymore, but I’ll give it a go if we’re forming a CAF band 🎹🎺🎻🥁🎶.

I can play the Organ and read most sheet music. Perhaps one day I’ll study some music theory and attempt composition. My favorite composers would include: John Williams, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Elmer Bernstein, Alan Silvestri, and Shinji Miyazaki.

My dad is practicing playing the saxophone for Lent ,getting back into it.He plays the button accordion also and piano by ear. He’s 88 🙂

@christofirst a band it is! 😃

Actually, I could do a shaker and some humming. And a tambourine if needed!

But at this point I’m feeling strongly about the Navajo rain stick. I won’t be shy.

Well there you go!🙂 Undiscovered talents.
My father holds by if you can whistle a tune you should be capable of playing an instrument :+1:t4:

Yeah I used to play piano and guitar and cornet and I can read music and used to be able to sing.
Don’t do it so much now, life got in the way.
Might get back to it.

You have gifts that you should give wings. Increase piano work. You play by ear. I admire ear players. After you conquer piano, pick up accordion. Violin could be next. It would be more difficult.

I played the organ a bit when I was younger, I gave it up for world peace…seems it might be coming to fruition soon!

I would have liked to have been formally trained in piano when I was younger.

Let’s see, we’ve got guitar, piano, organ, trumpet, cornet, tin whistle, triangle, saw, tambourine, and gum leaf. We can treat the traditional forum and play at one of their Masses 😲

I can play piano (playing that since I was 7) and guitar. One of my sisters can play banjo good so we jam sometimes. I’ve also been told I have a good bass/baritone voice. I was in choir first year of college.

It would be fun to jam 🙂 I think it would help in bringing skills along too?
My two eldest can play piano by ear,and the next in line says she can’t …but when I hear her she really has it.She loves to sing.
We had a set of drums in the garage at one stage…I should get another as the kids were good.
I don’t t think the youngest has explored yet,but he has sung at a couple of musicals.

In the old days when folk visited one another there was a lot of singing and playing of instruments …it sounds
like it would have Ben a lot of fun 😃

Why would you give up a musical gift that can give glory to God. Granted, it could be your passion. But, you’d loose the rhythm of music.
You can still return.

St. Cecilia is the SAINT for musicians. Pray to God for returning your gift to you. Pray to St. Cecilia to keep your prayer going before the FATHERS throne. Maybe she can whisper notes in your ear.CHUCKLE

I volunteer to pass around the tip jar, and if they do not donate then I will sing. That will teach them. 🤣
