Say Hello to our new CopyBoy

You may have noticed since the middle of last month we have a new member in Non-Catholic Religions:
CopyBoy.
Like the copy boys of old in ancient times who worked in what was then called ‘newspapers’, his job is to rip the latest stories off the tele-type machine (kind of an early comp… tabl…oh never mind) and hand it to the guy at the city desk (that would be me). These stories are of interest to those of many religions submitted to you, our readers, for discussion.
The only thing CopyBoy will NOT do is get you your coffee.

Welcome CopyBoy - it is okay, I love cocoa, so I hope you can make a good strong mug of cocoa without lumps. I like melted marshmallows on the top on special occasions. 😃

When I had that job in the 80s we had rather liberated copyGIRLS who would have been very cross at a request for coffee or cocoa from male reporters or editors. 😃

Thanks for the warning - my first job (in the late 70’s) included making tea and coffee for the senior bosses and any guests.
I have posted, so it is too late - I repent CopyBoy, I REPENT :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::imsorry:

I’ve been watching the old Lou Grant series on Hulu. One of the things I noticed was, in what was supposed to be a big LA newsroom, they only had ONE coffeepot. Loads of other inaccuracies in that show, but it was television.
 
I have been noticing posts by copyboy. I thought it a clever username. thanks for the introduction! 🙂

Okay, it’s like this.
Every time I commission someone to post news links for discussion I get complaints about the links themselves, too liberal, too conservative, or the person posting the links is accused of having an agenda.
What I needed was a nameless, faceless poster that any mod can use to post links.
Copyboy was born, problem solved.
Although I’m sure somebody somewhere will still find some reason to complain.
