I could say many of the same things some of y’all have said. Since this is Catholic Answers, I’ll mention the most obvious. I am a convert like the OP. My husband led us to the Catholic Faith. (It was his idea, although he says I don’t like to admit it :).)

My husband is my hero. He’s a Coast Guard reservist who loves God, his country, and his unit. He is also very handsome in his uniform.

My husband constantly tells me how beautiful I am, and he made sure to make me feel attractive even when I was enormously pregnant. He also drove out to buy me those icing-filled cookie sandwiches I kept craving and never once complained. When I was too sick to do the chores, he did everything for me. With all the baby weight I’ve gained, he tells me that I don’t need to lose anything.

Now that I’m a stay-at-home mom, he’s supporting me by continuing to work. Unlike some husbands, he does not treat me as though I am less important because I am not earning a paycheck. In fact, he says that I work harder than he does!

My husband is constantly cleaning and working on the house. He positively itches to do the yard work. However, he has never complained once about how I leave my scrapbooking materials scattered all over the floor, even when he trips over them.

My husband thinks that I’m a good cook, even though I really can only make box dinners. He especially loves to help me in the kitchen.

My husband is very close to his family and constantly does chores for his parents. He is also careful to make sure that I have the opportunity to visit my family as often as possible. It was his suggestion that we visit my mom on what ended up being the last weekend of her life. Thanks to his thoughtfulness, I was able to see her one last time.

My husband is my best friend!

My wife is more beautiful 12 years later than the day I married her. I look at her and I feel like am looking at a brilliant ball of light, a flower in bloom. Everything about her seems perfect to me, even though I know she is not perfect. I wish I was holding her hand right now.

Even though I have caused her great pain at times. Her response was to save my life and my soul. What more could you ask of a spouse?

Oh my this thread is wonderful. :bounce: There’s a lot of love on this thread! ❤️ I’m so happy we have such good things to say about our spouses. They truly are blessings straight from God aren’t they?!?! :heaven:

I have a few more to add for today.

My husband has spent far more time waiting in doctors offices, immediate care facilities and hospitals than any father of twelve. Yet he rarely complains about the wait, the boredom, the cost, loosing time at work, having to work overtime to catch up, or loosing most all his free time. He spends his time, rather, cheering me up, helping me to rest best I can, and devoting himself completely to my healing. When I’m physically unable, or just physically drained he takes care of the house and our two dogs without complaint. He is the best nurse I’ve ever had, and I’ve had hundreds, if not thousands in my lifetime. When I tell him I feel bad that he has to help me all the time all he says is that HE feels bad that I am sick. Getting me well, helping me through the rough times, taking care of me is all he thinks about. In our almost five years of being together he has done more care-giving and more nursing than many elderly couples can honestly say. He knows it will most likely only get worse, and yet all he can think about is that the woman he loves is suffering. When we were dating he said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life loving and taking care of me. ❤️ How many young men in the prime of their life would willing die to the rest of their lives to care for a sick and homebound wife day in and day out?!?! Again, his maturity level is far beyond his years. :yup:

Oh and I just love this one. My husband PREFERS me withOUT makeup. He says I RUIN the beauty of my face when I put it on. He likes me in plain and simple and modest clothing verses the latest fashions. He even goes gaga when I’m wearing baggy sweats! :yup:

I wasn’t going to post but I saw someone engaged above post so I will.

My S.O.'s name means, “christ bearer.” In the time that we have met we have grown spiritually. In the past 6 months we have “come back” to the Catholic church, our faith from birth. He is my #1 cheerleader, brave, intelligent, patient, amazing. I’ve told him before I prayed to God to put the man He felt should be in my life and then I met my S.O. He’s later told me that he prayed to God - and I came into his life. 🙂

Together we have come back to the Church. Honestly, if we weren’t sent by God to each other, I don’t think we would have led each other back to the Catholic faith. And for five years we didn’t step foot in a church! Until last Christmas. (Some of us can be a bit slow on the uptake! 😊 )

Oh yes, fiancees are definitely to be included in this thread. :yup: Congrats to you all on your upcoming marriages. 😃

something nice to say about my husband…hmmmm…

well, he’s still alive b/c I haven’t killed him yet

I’m just joking, but I’m secretly not haha!

He’s loyal, honest, genuine…just a really kind person. He works hard and is dedicated to being a good father and husband. He is realistic about what marriage means and he wouldn’t give in to temptation if we ever had a rough patch.

He doesn’t mind me looking older and more ragged ldue to lack of sleep from being pregnant and having a toddler 👍

He’s not a guys guy…he has lots of women friend because he’s sensitive.

He’s especially lucky because he has ME 😛

Ever since the day I first saw her, (first day of the eight grade in 1967), my wife has been without a doubt, the most caring generous person I have ever met. And there are literally hundreds of people who will back me up on that,…hundreds.

I stayed away from the Church for over a decade, only to come back, (and truely believe this), because she prayed me back.

I love her.

My bride, my best friend, is intelligent, thoughtful, and loving. Honestly, if I continue, I will get hand cramps. She is an awesome woman, and grows more so every day. I love her more today than when we wed 17 years ago.

My husband is very humble. This may not sound like much of a compliment, but it truly makes him stand out, and it is absolutely his strongest virtue. He can almost always set aside his ego and look at a situation objectively. He’s struggled with a lot of weaknesses, but his humility is a sort of shield - he’s rarely too proud to admit that he’s made a mistake. He is also kind and patient, self-sacrificing. He stands his ground, but without drawing attention to the fact that he is doing so. Generally, his are the quiet virtues that rarely get the recognition they deserve, especially in men. And the fact that he is content with those virtues shows his rich inner strength.

He treats me like me, not like the stereotype of a woman. He gives me respect, not romance - because I prefer it. He appreciates how hard I work for the family, and doesn’t mind that I don’t bother with dressing nicely or makeup. He is completely honest with me when I ask him how I look, often stating that my clothes don’t appeal to him when asked - and then sometimes coming up with great suggestions on how to improve them! His personality is an amazing compliment to mine. DH is the opposite of me in many ways, and we are each strong where the other is weak.

While our personalities are different, our interests are similar. He understands what I do at work - he’s a techie geek, like me, although he’s a tech-support / network admin type of geek, while I’m a software coder / testing geek. Sometimes he is even able to give me advice on how to do my job. He likes to play computer games with me, and enjoys most of the same movies that I enjoy. Like me, he loves to play at words.

And he’s a loving father. He couldn’t care less about a career, except that it helps his family. He is nearly broken if he ever feels like he’s failed his children. He wants the best for them, and is willing to do without as much money for our family while working harder if that’s the best way to get it.

Ok… no offense to the other mothers and wives out there who are my friends but my wife is the bestest of all 🙂

While we share a lot of the housework, it wouldn’t “work” without her. She works full time, cooks the majority of the time these days due to my workload, takes care of me when I need her and our 4 sons whom she has breastfed each one.

I love her!

Joe

*Oh, I just thought of a few more things…he is a devoted husband, father, and a good provider…he understands my moods, and he really tries to be patient when I say I don’t like living in Florida, lately.

Plus, he’s a GREAT dancer. :D*

My husband is my best friend, looks out for me, and wants what will make me happy. He is a great father, a great teacher and patient with the kiddos when I am not. He took care of his mom when she was alive, took care of an elderly aunt for 5 years after his mom died, and still kept his sanity. Most of all, he still loves me in spite of all my quirks! 😃

I could (and will!) detail all the wonderful things about my husband: he does dishes and laundry, he cleans the litter box (and he hates cats!).

He loves being a father and he’s good at it.

He’s a great son and son-in-law. When my father was in the final stages of pancreatic cancer, my husband took such good care of him, better than maybe a lot of biological children would take care of their own father. He gave my father the same love and respect he gave his own father and he was with them both, caring for them in their final days and I can honestly say he did not give his own father any better treatment or care than he gave mine.

He is my best friend and I am his and he never hesitates to say so to his friends and co-workers, even when they rib him about being “on a short leash”. He always tells them he doesn’t HAVE to be on a leash, he loves being with me and he loves to brag that in almost 21 years of marriage, we’ve NEVER spent a night apart.

He is a devout Catholic, hard-working, generous, gracious, full of good humor, optimistic and trustworthy.

But what I love most is that wonderful gorgeous smile he gets when he walks in the door and sees me. He calls out, “Where is that beautiful wife of mine?” as he comes up the stairs and I can’t help but blush and feel giddy. And he smiles the same as if I were gussied up for a night on the town or if I’ve had one of “those” days and look it! If he came home with a dozen roses every night, it wouldn’t mean half as much to me as the look on his face when he sees me.

He’s made me be the best wife, the best mother, the best friend, the best woman I can be.

aw, that is so dear!! :o I love this thread. Convert, you’re the best for starting it. :hug1:

Oh oh oh! Can I join in? :bounce:

My husband is simply amazing. He is so patient, caring, joyful, grateful, thankful, full of Faith and is super good at making me laugh over the littlest things. Whenever I need help with anything, he steps in without complaining. He does what he can to help me get a nightly bath in so I can have some time to relax without having to worry about Elise. And speaking of Elise, he totally adores her.

I can talk to him about anything and know he won’t judge me or flip out on me. I’ve been going through some pretty hard spiritual stuff, and he has been an enormous help to me. He always makes sure we provide a united front against people who are giving Unsolicited Advice about anything. He 110% for me as a SAHM, and always defends me when people start wanking about how I “should be working”.

I love my husband! ❤️

Actually, I can never find anything bad to say about my husband. There is just plumb nothing to complain about with this person.

I could go on and on about how wonderful he is - but the post would be too long.
Such a blessing.

There are so many bad things said about spouses on these forums that I thought we should have a thread where we said only GOOD things about our spouses. 👍

I’ll start.

My husband is my best friend forever, my first true love, my college sweetheart, my soulmate. My husband is the kindest, most loving, generous, hardworking, selfless, self giving person I know. He has loved me and treasured me and cared for me as though I were a queen, even though I’ve been sick since day one of our dating, and have worsened through the years. He has maturity and wisdom beyond his years. He is my joy and my heart. He is my forever love. ❤️ Thank you God for the precious gift you have given me in giving me my husband. :gopray:

Your turn…
Mine’s funny (oh, can he crack me up), very hard-working, and is one of the three smartest guys I know.

He protects me from the evil BUGS who occasionally invade my home with human bloodlust on their tiny insect minds, and does all the heavy stuff I can no longer do, like operating our 70-ton vaccuum cleaner, and mowing the lawn, and shoving furniture about AND he swam the Tiber with me. 🙂
