I pray the Rosary while walking,I live in the countryside and I can concentrate looking up at the evening sky or stars as I walk .
A couple of years ago when I was under more stress I would find myself multitasking ,but I’m sure even the effort of just trying to pray was valuable to Our Lady.

sure you can. Some parishes & Catholic retreat centers even have small “Rosary Walks” so people can walk around God’s creation while praying the Rosary.

Of course!! Pray it while walking, jogging, driving, swimming, flying, skating, cooking, gardening. It’s all good, and it helps fulfill the “pray without ceasing” command.

Well I have to be honest, I walk my dog several times a day. I say the Rosary everyday.
I’ve been doing the same thing for many years…I’m on my fourth dog, and we’ve logged many thousands of miles, and thousands of rosaries.
One thing I can’t imagine is praying the rosary while driving…I couldn’t concentrate on the road and the Mysteries at the same time, so what’s the point…

A special nun in grade school showed me it was ok to pray while walking… In fact lots of the nuns did this. They wore those giant rosaries at their wastes and prayed and walked…
As an adult I found that if I sat down to pray the rosary I fell asleep, so I started walking and meditating and praying… I still do. My favorite time is after everyone has gone to bed and I turn the lights down low…

Well I guess some might argue that it’s not giving the Blessed Mother quality time if you are trying to do something else while saying the Rosary. The idea being that one should make the time to say the Rosary as a separate event.
That’s an opinion. In the realm of prudential judgment.

To be “wrong” it would have to actually be morally wrong, which would mean it would have to violate a commandment.

Which it doesn’t.

You seem to be expending a lot of effort on this question, do you tend to be scrupulous?

Saying a Rosary while you walk strengthens the soul and the body. 🙏

My priest (who says the Extraordinary Form exclusively) recommended that I do exactly this.

Yes. Actually I do have issues with scrupulosity. Good observation.

Don’t try it while driving though
I pray the Rosary while in the car (by myself and with others) frequently.

Now, if I’m a driving in extremely heavy traffic or in a city I’m not familiar with, I won’t (but if the wife is with me, she’s silently storming Heaven with prayers for safe travel. She knows all too well what kind of driver I am.) 😀

Then you should be taking these questions to a regular spiritual director, not random strangers on the internet.

This feeds your scruples, it doesn’t help them. Get with a regular confessor and work through your scruples.

I loved saying the rosary while holding my kids or soothing them in the crib. I really felt connected to Christ and Mary in those moments.

Nuns and Monks have been doing this for centuries. It doesn’t get much better of a recommendation than that.

Yes, of course it is fine. I have seen many photographs of St John Paul II walking while praying the Rosary. I believe that when he was the reigning pope His Holiness Benedict XVI had a daily routine of walking in the Vatican Gardens with his secretaries while praying the Rosary, of which I have seen photographs and videos.

Another person might say that using your mind for the prayers of the Rosary during a walk is better than thinking about a person’s many problems or less spiritual things.

Greetings of peace!
Yes of course to be honest St.Ignatius of Loyola pray to God while he is lying down the roof while looking at the stars. It is a form of Dominican prayer position to pray rosary while walking you can do this everywhere and you can pray rosary even you are exercising or cooking as long as these activities would not affect your meditation. When you are walking imagine that you are asking your mother about your problems and what you want to have. The nature helps you to meditate with the rosary.
