Brazilian saying, equivalent to “If you want a job well done, do it yourself.”

Literally, “Who wants, does. Who doesn’t want, commands” [i.e., tells someone else to do it.]

(Flies won’t enter a closed mouth)

Why?
Working with a southern transplant, I got tired of not having any idea about half the stuff he was saying in meetings. Figured I’d turn the tables on him.
When I rolled it out, the expression on his face as he tried to figure out what the heck I meant was priceless! 😄 After about 4 solid seconds he caught on and we all had a good laugh.
