Scapular of St. Michael

I’m considering getting the scapular of St. Michael (the one pictured here: https://www.catholiccompany.com/saint-michael-large-shield-scapular-i79760/), but I feel I need to know more about it than what’s provided by the website. For example, it doesn’t explain where it originated from, only that a pope blessed it. It also says that indulgences were approved for it, but nothing about what kind or what you have to do to receive them. I haven’t been able to find this information either here or at any other website, and I don’t really trust Wikipedia enough to go there. I appreciate if anyone is able to point men I the right direction.
