I’m beginning to develop them. I thought I was just getting old. My wife says my scapular causes them. Does yours give you skin tags?

No. Skin tags come often with age. They often pop up in places where the skin folds and with those who could lose a few pounds. From what I’ve been told, if one or both of your parents had them, there is a fairly good chance that you will get them as well.

Thanks for explaining what a “skin tag” is. When I read the above post, I was like what in the heck is a “skin tag”
I been wearing a scapular for about a year now. All I get is a little teeny itch every now and then.
A couple of times without me even being aware, my scapular happened to pop out over top of my blouse or shirt some how. Then I get curious questions from a friend or family member on what it is? I tell them it is a scapular, then they say… What’s a scapular? I know the Brown scapular is a promise from our Mother (Mary) that we will never die from drowning or burning by wearing the brown scapular. Along with meditating on the rosary daily.

Once in a while a hive or two, but no skin tags.
My mother has had one skin tag, but she’s not particularly heavy. She is past 60, however. No scapular for her. But hers wasn’t where a scapular would hang.

No. My MD recently told me that skin tags are caused by “hyperactive” skin which comes from past sunburns. I am of the generation who didn’t know that the sun could cause skin cancer, so we weren’t careful about using sun block. So… I have skin tags, and new ones still popping up.

No, no skin tags from wearing a scapular.
I have skin tags here and there and both my 12 and 10 year old have skin tags too. Sounds like they likely will get more as they age. I think they can be removed easily, so if they become bothersome or numerous, I guess removal is always an option,

sunburn? I can assure you I have one or two skin tags in places that never see the sun
but then I’m naturally prone to moles and freckles as well, even without sun exposure, so skin tags must just be an enjoyable optional extra sigh

If the material on a scapular aggravates in any way and with some skin conditions t can cause problems…one can wear the scapular medal usually pinned to an inner garment.

I’m sixteen. The only time I take off my scapular is when I shower. I’ve worn one for two years now. I have no skin tags. It’s probably your age. So I’d say no. Sorry.

I’ve had mine for ten years. It used to give me a skin rash (not skin tags, though), so I stopped wearing it for several years (I had worn it for maybe a few years). I’m wearing it again, and it’s pretty much fine.
