Scary situation

First, thank you all for the prayers you’ve offered up for me in the past.

Second, please pray for all our safety. Last Thursday (3-13) a police officer in a nearby town was shot by a man wanted in other states on outstanding warrants. To my knowlege, the assailant is still at large. I live in a rural area, and the police have been around searching and there have been a lot of helicopters flying around. They think he may have fled to Mexico (the border is about 100 miles from where we live) but of course it’s possible that he is still in the area. We live near a national forest, undeveloped BLM land, and an Indian reservation which has lots of large undeveloped land tracts. There are mountains with caves and abandoned mines all around us, so it isn’t impossible to imagine that the man may still be hiding in the area. Naturally, we’re concerned for our safety. I’m afraid to let the kids out of the house or even go back and forth to our families’ homes unsupervised until this man is caught.

Please pray for our safety and the safety of those involved in tracking and capturing him. The officer he shot survived but is in critical condition. Please pray for him and his family as well.

Lord, watch over all those in and around this potentially dangerous situation. Protect these families, officers and all involved from harm, and be it your will, may this criminal be caught and brought to justice. Watch over the officer that was shot, Lord, comfort him and his family through this terrible ordeal. Please be, restore him to health, that he may continue to valiantly serve and protect here on earth.

Will be keeping your safety in daily prayer with Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Joseph, along with the injured officer…and all involved in this very worrying situation…
