It’s very disappointing.

Jesus please let Your Spirit be the guide of Your church, not political considerations. Jesus please reclaim Your Church and the intention for which You instituted it.

I live in the Diocese of Fort Worth and Bishop Vann seemingly pretty accepting (not necessarily encouraging) of Traditional Catholicism so he’ll hopefully make the right decision and allow these Anglicans in.

There is more to this story than Mr. Dreher makes out. Bishop Pope attended my cathedral parish and was welcomed soundly by our rector one Sunday after Mass and there was an article in our bulletin about him. It should be remembered that Mr. Dreher was a movie critic for the Baton Rouge newspaper when he converted to Catholicism. When he moved to Dallas, he converted again to Orthodoxy. Knowing the bishop involved and our diocesan priests, the issue is probably not as facile as Mr. Dreher contends.

How far will modernists in the Catholic Clergy go to discourage entrance to the True Faith? Is there actually no concern for the salvation of souls at all, or does it just appear that way?
I recommend you stay away from Beliefnet. It’s a haven for ultra-liberals. Even the Catholics there don’t defend the faith, but slam it constantly. It should really be called * ‘Anti-Beliefnet’.*
