Is the belief in certain ideas, such as Enoch from the Book of Genesis becoming an angel after he was “taken by The Lord” and alleged writings (Enoch 1&2) defined as a schism for those who believe that it is valid?

Where does such an idea originate?

My friend, there are NO APPROVED books of Enoch in the God Inspired Bible:shrug:

God Bless you

It is an idea which had been becoming more popular where I lived previously to here I am today. There are some who perceive this as truth, a continuation from a section of the Book of Genesis.

There is nothing inherently “wrong” with considering the legitimate Books of Enoch canonical, however, it is not considered canonical within the Latin Church. It is accepted as canon by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, and historically the Ethiopian Catholic Church. While as a Latin, one may respect the Ethiopian Church position, one should always take caution not to deviate from recognized Church teaching in their academic pursuit. Just because the word “angel” is used in translation, does not mean that the word means the same as the divine non-human angels, it may be referring to Enoch - who is, by the way, recognized as an Old Testament Prophet and Saint - as God’s divinely blessed “messenger” - which is what the word “angel” literally means.

By the way, the Mormon book with the same name is NOT the same text recognized by the Apostolic Churches.
