"Scholarly consensus" sees Moses as a mythical figure?

That is a vague statement that doesn’t address allegory, metaphor, myth, hyperbole which are all contained in Scripture.

Myth and hyperbole are not to be found in the Scripture unless they are quoted in the mouths of sinners.
As for metaphor and allegory, Scriptural truth is only to be read non-literally if the literal meaning is contrary to reason. The existence of Moses is not contrary to reason. What you seem to be suggesting is that any and all truths within the Bible could be said to be allegorical or metaphorical. Let’s test this theory:

Jesus did not literally die on the cross, that was a metaphor.
Jesus did not literally resurrect, that was allegorical.
Jesus did not literally forgive sins, that is metaphorical.
Jesus did not literally heal the sick, that is hyperbole.
Jesus is not literally the Son of God, that is mythological.

Suddenly the entire Scripture and Faith falls apart.

I did not say that at all. I said all those are contained in scripture. There is endless debate among theologians and in these forums about how to interpret Bible verses including something as basic as whether the universe was created in 6 literal days.

You think you cannot be Catholic and point out the Bible contains literary devices?

God didnt create the earth in 6 literal days That doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out.

Some of the stuff I have read claims that the Jewish people are the ones claiming he’s just a myth. I have no idea if that’s correct or not though.
I don’t believe anybody who says they can speak for what the opinions of any group of people is, but least of all someone who thinks they can speak for all of the People of the Book. I have a Jewish friend who says the old saw is this: If you have two Jews discussing something, you already have three opinions. I don’t know about that, but I do know that the Jews do not have a Pope or any other single person who has the office of speaking definitively concerning what all Jews ought to believe, let alone what they actually do believe.

Yes, this is where they need to use science, not just a worthless carbondating machine that takes pot luck shots at dates between jurrasic and when Jesus returns

Its simple, the topic is about how moses might not have existed which is an evolution agenda or should i say science, so obviously that worthless inaccurate machine that dates objects into confusion is always going to be involved.
