Sorry, this will probably upset you but I have to say it… Getting a “B” is worse than offending our Lord by sinning?

Not at all. That’s why I’ve thought about doing that. I’ve got two weeks to look at alternatives though, and I am not ready to lay down yet.

but there are masses on sunday evenings as well. there are early masses and later divine liturgies. you can do both, you just have to be a little creative.

Sounds like you either need to take a zero, or ask for an alternative assignment.

Couldn’t you attend a weekday service at a non-catholic church, so as not to interfere with your normal duties to the Church? From my point of view, attending a service is not a sin in itself, as you are not endorsing the religion simply by attending. For example, you’re not going to accept the Qur’an as God’s teaching simply by visiting a mosque. There are other factors involved.

EDIT: Couldn’t you also explain to your teacher the situation? Professors aren’t out to get you.
