Do you mean the Jesuit Priest who demonstrated the most satisfying theory of creation that Albert Einstein had yet seen? Short answer: Yes.
Well said. Also St. Thomas Aquinas’ Five Proofs that are also backed and cannot be refuted by top scientist. Fr. Robert Barron also gives some good proofs in the book the Church and New Media but you can also find it on his word on fire youtube page.

How do you respond to non believers who make this lazy claim? Where do you prefer to start?
If science knows everything, then we have no more use for science.

If science does not know everything, what do we do with the unknown? Can the person who makes this claim admit there are things he does not know?

If he can admit it, that admission immediately invalidates his hypothesis that an all-knowing being doesn’t exist.
The most honest thing he can say is, “I don’t know if there is a God”.

That’s an interesting way of looking at it. Can you give me an example?
A few quick ones:
  1. Joshua 10:13 claims that the sun stood still for about a day, meaning the earth stop rotating. Not only is there no historical evidence from any culture throughout the world, but if some force were to stop the earth from moving the conservation of momentum would kill everything on it.
  2. We know from the scientific study of languages that there was not one language that instantaneously become many.
  3. Even if there was some bright star or planet in the sky on the night of Jesus’ birth, it won’t direct someone to a particular location. It’s clear the authors of the Bible consider stars relatively small objects of light in the “firmament” (another scientifically erroneous concept).
  4. I know not all christians believe as such, but there are many who as part of their theology have decided that rainbows did not exist prior to the flood. Are we to believe that for years light did not refract upon raindrops?

I would say the same thing that they would say to me, as a believer: Prove it, empirically! Of course they can’t. Speaking as a former agnostic, it takes considerable more faith, at least in my humble opinion, to be an atheist.

These statements have nothing to do with your initial comment about theology. Do you understand what theology is about?

Science has already it’s plate full trying to prove or disprove the basic theories and fundamentals of the physical world, that anyone serious enough should stop making stupid assertions like that. God cannot be either proved nor disproved by science for HE is not an entity of our Physical world, HE created the physical world.

It’s like pretending that an amoeba understands string theory with the caveat that both the amoeba and string theory belong to our physical world
Imagine the quantum leap necessary to try and understand the creator of this physical world!
