I can understand your reasoning here. Even if there is an uncaused cause, that does not convince me it was a God. I am okay with not knowing.There are only two possibilities:
- A closed Universe or multiverse scenario in which the Big Bang is caused by some prior universe. But this does not answer the question of what caused the Universe because then one has to ask what caused the prior universe and so on.
- An Uncaused Cause caused the Big Bang. In light of what we know about space-time and the evidence for the open Universe and its eternal expansion, this is a far more reasonable conclusion.
