Scientists use brain imaging to reveal the movies in our mind?

I’m unaware of the teaching you are talking about.

However, if it’s happening, then God made it possible by the laws of the natural world. We just discovered it!
 
There is a vast difference between revealing images and revealing beliefs, thoughts, emotions, values, choices and decisions!

I am more worried about the possible abuses that this technology could entail.

It’s not quite what it’s been hyped to be: it only works while the subject is looking at the movie.

Blood flow in the visual cortex (highly localized in the brain) is measured by fMRI while the subject is watching the movie. A computer with a visual feed creates a formula that correlates what it sees with the blood flow patterns in the subject seeing the movie. Last, it uses the formula with only the fMRI data and no visual feed to project what the subject is presently seeing.

Here is the published study.
