Scientology has a practice called “auditing” in which participants are increasingly persuaded to reveal their dirtiest secrets and most torturous thoughts. If you don’t have any, they’ll suggest some to you, like “would you ever do this?” These sessions are recorded so that later on, if you choose to leave, whatever information you divulged about yourself can be used to blackmail you.
Christianity has confession which again has you revealing your dirtiest little secrets. The difference is no one records them, and priests don’t even try to remember them for later.

Yes…

And so many fallen away Catholics later return with greater respect and acknowledgement of the Church’s wisdom. I keep her in prayers and hope all will work out the best…and for Tom’s conversion as well.

Perhaps she was scared Xenu or Xemu (whatever his name is) would brake out of his prison with the eternal battery and summon a world wide tax inspection that would start the end of the world…

Or maybe she came to her senses and realized “this guys a nut”!

I just had a thread going about this. Interesting that people get caught up in this scam.

I pray for their souls…
I always think of the time he was jumping up and down on Oprah :bounce::whacky:

Thats really messed up.

Yes…this is the ‘stuff’ that can cause psychological trauma and breakdown…

The fact that she was secretly planning a get away…this planning going on for some time…well, it took some time for her to pull herself together…so she could start planning…that shows she was in alot of grief, trauma and human bondage…alot of fear of her husband’s judgment and associations.

I read an article about what could happen to her, her personhood could be damaged by the time it is all over…and with this sort of organization, I would think you would always be looking over your shoulders for years to come until the daughter is grown up.

Nicole seldom ever sees her two adopted children she had with Cruise. I think they are part of Scientology…

To break the bond with one’s mother, albeit from adoption, is pretty unnatural and cruel.

Katie Holmes reportedly returns to Catholic Church
Five years after revealing that she had started to study Scientology, Katie Holmes has officially returned to the Catholic faith, registering as a parishioner at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York City.
“Everyone is thrilled to have Katie join us,” a member of the church’s choir told me. “She has not yet attended a service, but when she does she will be welcomed with open arms.”
The church, located on 16th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, is known for inclusive thinking and its welcoming of many gay and lesbian Catholics. Its mission statement indicates that the Roman Catholic Church parish “strives to be a prophetic, welcoming community, inclusive witness to the presence of Christ Jesus in our midst.” Its website proclaims that it is a respectful community, “where seekers and their questions are welcomed, where injustice is challenged, where the poor, the alienated and marginalized find a home, and where people are refreshed, reconciled and renewed.”
Cruise and Holmes just issued a joint statement saying, “We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

Ex-Scientologists will know exactly why Katie decided to divorce Tom. They also know what she can look forward to now that she’s done it so bluntly. I had to deal with a lot when I left, and when I tried to get my sister out; it’s tough. Steve Hassan’s new book, “Freedom Of Mind” has a pretty good explanation of how the Church works to keep members and associates from leaving: freedomofmind.com/

Well, Tom is moving to New York and they are reporting the child was crying to be with her father…understandable as she is part of both of them.

But I don’t think Katie will ever be free of the power of scientology as long as her daughter and father live, and I hope the child will love her mother and not be like Nicole’s step children who don’t seem to care to be around her anymore.
