Guessing that characters are running around in mecha and power armour. Maybe combine it with some Ghost in the Shell stuff
A Tachikoma would make a good replacement for Scrappy. While both are annoying, the Tachikoma provides better processing, threat recognition, protection, and armament capability With what appear to be dual .30 calibre MG “arm” mounts and the option of a large RPG/grenade launcher mount or what appears to be a 20mm rotary autocannon in the chin, way more effective than Scrappy
Or, could go high budget and replace him with a hexaped tank
While “The Major” does share the colour purple with Daphne, she is a little less “danger prone” and a lot more capable, so that swap wouldn’t work so well. Also, would definitely cause the show to lose its G/PG type ratings.
Batou as Fred could be amusing. More brains, and the ability to carry a 7.62x51mm mini-gun.
