This is just a consideration, at this point. I find the title somewhat ridiculous. No secular government can force the Catholic Church do behave immorally. They can imprison Catholics, and have. They can execute Catholics, and have. They cannot force anyone into apostasy.

I swear…As a Catholic this is something that makes me facepalm. Children may have to follow a secular curriculum and hear a lecture about something, they’re not being asked to pull out some sex toys and do some BDSM in the locker rooms.

It would be sinful to convert to a heathen religion, but I don’t see anyone rising up to condemn Catholic children being told who Muhammad was, what a Hindu is or why Jews don’t accept Christ as the messiah. This is all that is being suggested, they gain knowledge so that when the child encounters say…I don’t know, a condom dispenser when they go to a public bathroom they don’t look like a complete imbecile not knowing what it is.

Unless your children are being brainwashed and forced to partake in a satanic black mass, lets just calm down. Listening to a different opinion does not equate apostasy. By this logic anyone who has ever learned anything about a non-Catholic society is a heretic.

Because God said so is perfectly fine by me, Catholic school children through their Religious Education are taught about Jesus, the life of Jesus and the words and teachings of Jesus. They know that a baby is God’s will, that killing the baby in the womb, is a very grave sin, as is contraception. Homosexuality ( not the person but the act} is a grave sin. There is absolutely no reason why they should be taught differently. They know how bad it is they also know what it is. All they need to defend their beliefs, is taught to them through said religion, and knowing God said so.

We will have to agree to disagree then. One of my daughters is already facing pressure from some of her friends to “lighten up” and accept SSM. She knows the few secular arguments against the practice are weak and as she is reminded outside of the home the church has been wrong countless times in the past (Galileo, Ursury, The fourth Crusade).

Knowledge gives her the tools to counter and proselytize, you need to persuade people to come round to your point of view. “Because God said so” with no supporting evidence doesn’t convince anyone these days. Walk into any protestant denomination and God will have apparently said hundreds of different conflicting statements on a matter, it’s no wonder Non-Catholics (and even some within the faith) need something to back up the facts.

No, they don’t. Mine won’t. They will be pulled out of school first. I will go to jail first. It is what people do in response to evil.

No, they are being brainwashed to accept mortal sin as acceptable. That is far more insidious. Our society is becoming inure to sexual sin, accepting lust as normal instead of one of the deadly sins.

Facepalm if you want. Rest assured your post do the same for others. What does it for me is fake tolerance that wants tolerance for sin, but show no tolerance for morality.** Mandatory** indoctrination is institutionalized intolerance.

If a true pluralistic and intolerant society was the goal, then there would be no mandatory classes on moral issues.
