Just curious- what do you guys think of Scott Hahn- is he a good theologian? Orthodox in his faith and teaching? For example, his books such as The Lamb’s Supper?
I read the Lamb’s Supper. I think it is very good. He is also a scholar and ver conservative Catholic. He is also a member of Opus Dei.Just curious- what do you guys think of Scott Hahn- is he a good theologian? Orthodox in his faith and teaching? For example, his books such as The Lamb’s Supper?
Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut, Manny, I appreciate it. In the next few posts I’m hoping to hear from those who would call themselves “traditionalist” Catholics- it seems that in some of the more traditional circles there is, on occasion, a bit of an anti-Scott Hahn undercurrent. I’m hoping to get an idea as to why that is.I read the Lamb’s Supper. I think it is very good. He is also a scholar and ver conservative Catholic. He is also a member of Opus Dei.
I don’t know about theologin, but as a speaker and apologist he’s pretty darn good. He deals with and answers main protestant objections/claims very well - his apologetic tapes and a couple of his books (Lamb’s Supper was one of them) helped me a great deal. It’s been a good while since I’ve read his stuff, but I still give out his conversion story “testimony” tape to prospective protestant converts.Just curious- what do you guys think of Scott Hahn- is he a good theologian? Can you provide a link? I cant’ seem to navigate to it on the site. I’ll keep trying…If you have access, go to Proquest Digital Dissertations and read Dr. Hahn’s. It will tell you a lot about him as a person, and as a Catholic. It called Kinship by covenant: A biblical theological study of covenant types and texts in the Old and New Testaments
Are you serious about the Cardinal? Do you have any links reference that?I love his stuff, but it seems that our diocese (and others under the influence of Cardinal X) have banned him from speaking to Catholic groups.
Perhaps if he spoke in conjunction with a clown mass or learned to do liturgical dancing he would be welcome here.
I especially recommend “A Father Who Keeps His Promises”, which focuses on the covenants between God and mankind.
No links. I’ve asked some of our parish ministers if we could get Scott Hahn to come speak at our parish, and the response is always that he is “not welcome” in our diocese (and the surrounding dioceses - except one). Are you serious about the Cardinal? Do you have any links reference that?
