I dont know. But, I am asking. It sounds like it means mass confusion.
does it mean that copiyists did not use punctuation, no distinction between upper case and lower case letters, and worse yet- no spaces used to seperate words!

Try to get one answer (or a few answers at a time), once your curiosity has you satisfied to some degree, move on to the next topic.
