Scriptural Basis for Pets going/not going to heaven?

First, God can do as he pleases. Whether I find scripture or not. I can misunderstand. Second, if my happiness in heaven depends on my pet being there, since God loves me so much as to sacrifice his Son, my pet will be there. However, I don’t think we will notice as we will be in such awe of God. In Romans 8, creation groans under our sin. Creation is not sinful. In God’s new heavens and earth, there must be animals.👍

When God made a covenant with Noah he said “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you,”

Would God make a covenant with the animals if they were not important to him?
It’s fascinating. Much of American Catholic popular spiritual reading has been influenced by Scott Hahn, who came into the Catholic Church after studying covenants and covenant theology. What’s amazing though, is that I’ve never seen him even mention how God made a covenant with the animals as well!

Anyway, I read this book and I enjoyed it:
God’s Covenant with Animals: A Biblical Basis for the Humane Treatment of All God’s Creatures

It basically laid out cases against why certain things are immorral. for example, to save fur, animals killed for fur are killed by anal electrocution  Additionally, the rest of the animal is rarely used, making it a complete waste. Irregardless, fake fur is not only cheaper to make, but warmer too!

The book is not written by some insane leftist PeTA type, nor does it push vegetarianism. It was excellent.

Not according to the FCUSA.

Thus the only method
of euthanasia approved for mink by FCUSA is bottled
gas, either pure carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide.
When harvest time comes around, a mobile unit is
brought to the animals’ cages to eliminate stress that
might be caused by transporting them long distances.
This mobile unit includes a specially designed airtight
container which has been prefilled with gas. The
animals are placed inside and immediately rendered
unconscious, and die quickly and humanely.

I don’t wear fur but its interesting to look at different sources on the subject.🙂

Of course, now we can search the bible for proof that my favorite rock will be in heaven (the diamond in my wedding ring):

Daniel has :
Mountains and Hills praise the Lord (etc.) so from that I would assume that all creation will be in heaven to give praise to God.

OR

Could it be that we will be fully aware of our Earthly existence and enjoy the memory of the ‘presence’ of our animals during our timely existence to a level of awareness that we do not have today?

Thanks, keep in mind that the book I cited was written almost 10 years ago. What about the other arguments, that fake fur is cheaper/warmer and that most fur companies don’t use the rest of the animal?

I’m pretty much wholeheartedly against fur…and circuses too:)

EDIT: You know what? I don’t really believe most of the information on that website. I’ll trust the humans society’s information over these folks. Nothing personal.

How’s about “nothing is impossible for God?”

Perhaps we could ask God if we get there. He may choose to reward us for something in this way. However, if He does not, we’ll still be happy with His will for we will always favor His above ours in Heaven.

So I see it as entirely possible as nothing is impossible for God. The bigger question is thus will God? I personally tend toward yes, because when animals were greated in Genesis, God saw what He had done and it was good. If it’s good, it’ll certainly be in Heaven because all good things are in Heaven.

I have no idea if fake fur is warmer then real fur. That is why I didn’t answer it.😛 I was just pointing out that minks might not still be killed in the manner the book described. Never having farmed minks for fur coats, I honestly can’t say how they are killed though. :o I tend to lean toward the fact that some family fur farms gas the animals because I vaguely remember hearing a member of PETA argue that the other animals grew upset when they witnessed other minks gassed.

Maybe it all depends on the family who owns the fur farm?🤷

Could be…not to mention the fur farms elsewhere in the world, such as in Asia, are far far far more atrocious than anything that goes on in the USA. I shudder just thinking of some of the videos I’ve seen.

There’s just something about hurting innocence that is so easy to despise. It’s why hating abortion, child abuse, animal abuse, etc is so…easy?

Animals die for only one reason–Adam and Eve’s sin.

Since God is a God of Perfect Justice the question is not “Could God make animals with finite lifespans?”

Of course! God can do anything He wants.

The real question is “Would God let the injustice of animal’s deaths because of man’s sin and not their own since they cannot sin stand forever?”

Would that be Perfect Justice? The answer is no.

Since the answer is no then it is logical that God will at the end of time because of His nature of perfect justice restore the unjustly taken away lives of the animals by man.

Umm, animals don’t have original sin. They’re only fallen in the sense that all of creation shared man’s fate when our first parents rebelled.

In fact, animals glorify God in all they do, because they don’t have any choice in the matter, being of pure instinct.
Animals somehow escaped the fall? Can you document this? They do die don’t they?

The Church clearly teaches that only humans have a supernatural end. By definition that means animals do not have a supernatural end. They have material souls which cease to exist when animals die whereas humans have immortal souls.
That means when humans die their souls are saved or damned but live on. Animals souls do not so they do not go to Heaven or Hell. They cease to exist.

Whether at the end of time God creates animals to be with us or not is a totally separate issue to what happens when animals die.

I would reccommend that you read the book “There is Eternal Life for Animals” by Nicki Shanahan.

I have recently lost a pet and this book brought me comfort. It is full of biblical references.

When God made a covenant with Noah he said “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you,”

Would God make a covenant with the animals if they were not important to him?

“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, blessing, and honour, and glory and power be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the lamb for ever and ever.” REVELATION 5:13

*"And **all flesh ***shall see the salvation of God."LUKE 3:6

Notice it doesn’t say “all man” or “all of mankind”.

“*Let **everything that hath breath ***praise the Lord” PSALM 150:6

The bible is full of references to animals, and it is clear that God loves them. We can learn a lot about unconditional love from animals, as anybody who has had a pet can tell you. God gave us dominion over the animals and they are a great gift to us.

I know in my heart that animals go to heaven, as I have seen with my own eyes that they are capable of great love. Knowing something in my heart is not proof, but I have no proof that God exists either. I simply believe.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God.” LUKE 12:6, MATTHEW 10:29

Check out www.eternalanimals.com
Thank you. “…unconditional love of animals…” I only hope that I can be with my animals as they are so much more worthy of heaven than I.

And the abuse that some give animals, IMO, will end with them being in hell. How we treat animals is how one would treat you (me) if they can get away with it.

I firmly believe animals are in heaven and our pets will be there. A part of God’s wonderful love…praise Him forever.
