I say the Bible’s not perfect. Who wants to disagree with me first? 😃
 
We believe the bible to be the inerrant word of God. If that’s what you mean by perfect, then yes.

We also strongly object to the LDS claim that scripture was lost or changed by the early church. We reject any scriptural revision by Joseph Smith or anyone else claiming revelation to re-translate scripture.

We further strongly object to Martin Luther’s removal of certain canonized books of the bible, and also his attempt to remove others. He had no authority, nor claimed revelation to do so.

We do support translations of the bible into the language which we currently speak. In other words, scripture doesn’t have to remain in 19th century English.
 
Ah, good point, Della. There are several different areas of perfection we may focus on. Let’s try this for starters:
  1. Perfect period! (No error whatsoever, not even in detail or translation.)
  2. Perfect in doctrine. (Not everything coincides exactly right, but the doctrines expressed are pure and unadulterated.)
  3. Perfect in application. (Not even the doctrine is explicitly perfect, but it is God’s Word and our guidebook to life.)
Would you like any fries with that?
  1. Perfectly complete. (Nothing has been taken out that should be there and nothing is there that shouldn’t be.)
Am I leaving out any other categories? I would disagree with numbers 1 and 4, and only slightly with 2 and 3.
