Hello! I am a newcomer to the forum and in my Meet and Greet thread post, I had mentioned that I’m very enthusiastic about doing my Rosary each night. And one person asked if I knew about the Scriptural Rosary…

I’ve heard of this but don’t know quite what it is. Does anyone have more information or sites I could go to for more information? It sounds interesting…
 
There are many book/booklets on hand at most catholic bookstores. They are structured for children as well as adults and are not expensive. I have often used them and find they are a great source for medtation. As a person becomes familiar with Scripture you can seek out the refrences to each mystery. This is one of my favorite meditation tools. Combining the Scriptural passage to the Rosary mystery. Hope this has been a help. God Bless, D
 
The only difference in praying a scriptural rosary is that in between each prayer, you also read a line of scripture associated with the mystery of the particular decade you’re praying. It’s a wonderful tool to keep your mind from wandering while you pray.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I might be using a version of this already. I purchased a booklet, How to Pray the Rosary without Distractions, which has a ‘thought’ you read over for each Hail Mary…they’re not actual scriptural but they break down the individual mystery into more detail. Yes, I love this method as it keeps my mind in the ‘mystery’, so to speak. 🙂

It breaks up the Bible story for each mystery into ten short parts (about a sentence or two each), one for each Hail Mary. That way you can stay focused on the Mystery throughout each decade.
