Why is it that our Lord says in the gospel of Luke 16:18 “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.” and he does not state any exception however in Matthew 5:31,5:32 He says “Furthermore it has been said, “Whoever divorces his wife let him geive her a certificate of divorce.” But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.”
So does that mean that the only exception to divorce is only if a partner has committed sexual immorality? When if he does not state in the other version of the Gospel?
