Scripture in Christian Prayer Book

In the one volume Christian prayer book how much Scripture, particularly New Testament, is incorporated into the prayers, especially morning prayer? Thanks!
 
I don’t think there’s as much NT in morning prayer as you’d like. Morning and evening prayer generally follow the following form:

2 psalms
A canticle (could be from either OT or NT)
A short reading from scripture
A responsorial
The Benedictus (MP) or Magnificat (EP)
Prayers of the faithful
The Lords Prayer
Closing prayer

I think more often than not the canticle is from the OT in the morning and the short reading usually is too. The only reliably NT in morning prayer is the Benedictus and the Our Father.
 
To follow on tvknight415’s post; the readings are in a 4 week cycle so you essentially go over the same readings say 13 times a year. There are some changes based on the seasons, but you are not going to read huge swaths of the Bible in morning and evening prayer. Remember that the Liturgy of the Hours is primarily structured around the pslams.
 
There tends to be more New Testament in Evening Prayer than in Morning Prayer.

I’ve observed that while the Gospel Canticle in both is obviously NT the Canticle in MP is OT and in EP it is NT. This is not hard and fast rule but the Reading in MP is often OT while EP is often NT.

I was interested enough to do a little research. This is what I come up with for the Readings in MP and EP in the 4 week Psalter (I didn’t evaluate the Commons or any Propers). Note that in EP it is always New Testament.

Tuesday MP NT, EP NT
Wednesday MP OT, EP NT
Thursday MP OT, EP NT
Friday MP NT, EP NT
