I’ve got a friend who sent me a text message. They asked if I know of a Scripture passage regarding giving one’s time as a service. I’m thinking of the parable of the sheep and goats. Anything else come to mind?

All good deeds take some of our time, so I’m not sure just what your friend is after. The only passage that came to my mind that specifically mentions time occurs in the Garden of Gethsemane. The good deed/activity requested is prayer.

Mt. 26:38-40 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” …He said to Peter, "So, **could you not watch with me one hour? **

I can’t be certain, but I think there is a play on words (in the Greek) in the parable of the talents in Matthew 25.

Peace,

Ryan 🙂
