Scripture question on the Truth

Jn 17:11b-19

Consecrate them in the truth.
Your word is truth.

Pray: Spirit of truth, consecrate me by means of truth. By obedience to the truth may I be purified for a genuine love of my brothers and sisters (1 Peter 1:22). I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.​

Verb:
Make or declare (something, typically a church) sacred;** dedicate formally to a religious or divine purpose.**
(in Christian belief) Make (bread or wine) into the body or blood of Christ.

I am confused by the use of “in” here. Does this basically mean dedicate them to serve the truth?

I see it as something deeper.

To be “in” something is to be immersed, to be fully committed to something.

For example consider the difference between saying “I believe you”, and saying "I believe in you.

John 14:6a Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”

So, to be consecrated by means of truth, would be to be consecrated “in” truth, and truth is Jesus Christ.
